They let PvPers who want to grind exclusively PvP, do just that.
How is that useless or bad?

This is due to corruptions, azerites, and stat bloat.
All of which are not transferring over to Shadowlands. Gear in Shadowlands is plain and simple gear. The only cause for concern is covenant abilities.
How does that change to what OP originally said? He is absolutely correct that PvP gear needs to matter for PvP.
Warlord’s of Draenor had a good system. With PvP gear scaling to Heroic/Mythic gear quality during PvP combat, thus making PvP gear relevant.
We need to address PvP gear. It needs to be the best for PvP environments, and just as effective in PvE as PvE gear would be in PvP environments.
Please. Bring PvP tier sets and PvP stats. Thank you.
They have already stated that system is not coming back, so the best you can hope for is the ensure that there will be a better balance between the tiers. As there won’t be all the systems BFA has, it should be easier for them to create a balance between the two system to allow top tier players from both to have access to gear of similar power.
Now they could make PvP sets with bonuses that are designed for either, that would be a nice change!
Gotta love when you only argument is hating on LA servers. His argument is logical.
Also DH .
The main reason is how long is this grind going to be? Is it gonna take us 3 months to get in all conquest gear? If so, it would be easier just to run high m+ or run heroic raids rather than trying to do battlegrounds or arenas. My concern is that the gear is gonna take way too long to get which will still put players who pve ahead of players who exclusively pvp. And with this, this also means that you most likely are gonna have to still do pve content if you want your BiS items for pvp.
I hit 2100 for the first time without setting foot in any PvE content back in WoD. They literally just have to revert back to that system.
Imo, if they would just disable pve trinkets in PvP, it would be much better.
Sick of tanking trinkets and that mechagon one
They also said no to high elves, pvp vendors, etc.
Yet here we are…
When I played in cataclysm and MoP, I never did any of the PvE content and I was full PvP so what are you talking about?
Yeah without PvP stats these vendors will have to sell “average” gear at most, otherwise PvEers will be forced to PvP. This makes them irrelevant.
PvP gear was nice. It was easy to obtain, and it was easily BiS for the content I was doing, which made it twice as exciting to obtain it. It was super fun to plan out purchases throughout the season and get gradually powerful. Some specs I only enjoyed in PvP and I could play just that and feel progression. It was simple and satisfying.
When I PvE I have a completely different mindset. Competitive buzz gives its place to a theorycrafting optimization. Getting the best of the best procs, trinkets, talents for maximum numbers. Going there doing that, going there doing that, getting to that optimal state.
Two completely different games for me.
When they combined those two game styles into one, it just became one big lump of whatever. I don’t feel anything special when I PvP anymore and PvE has completely overtaken the progression. That’s one of the things that I don’t like in classic and in BFA (at least PvE progression is more comprehensible in classic).
You said it better than I could ever say it.
One can only hope that this gets through to the devs. Spot on
And that is when everyone decided you were a douche and your arguments became irrelevant.
Emmmm, okay…
WoD scaling style system would be best.
I also think PvP talents need scrapped and PvP trinkets need a powerful 2 piece set bonus.
Folks from Rag tend to be god awfull at the game, and you can’t talk to a lot of them since they don’t speak English but they’re still thrown into NA lobbies.
Pvp gear currently goes up to 475.
The issue is that it is RNG.
JUST DO THIS ALREADY!
ahem
Seriously though, this is the solution.
Well there’s a few scenarios that I can think of off the top of my head:
I’m assuming they are either going to scale the gear like they did in WoD, or they are just going to make it all pretty much the same and we can gear how we like. I’m hoping for either the WoD approach, or just say YOLO and bring back resilience, which was a system next to no one complained about.
