Please change my mind. For the last three seasons, we’ve been forced to do PvE in order to get better in PvP and I know there a big portion of people who likes to do PvE but there are also a lot of people that don’t and only want to do PvP. I’ve seen a lot of people celebrating because the PvP vendors are coming back, but what is the point? If PvP sets will be the same as BFA then there will be no point in bringing back PvP vendors. PvP sets are not relevant, as right now, these sets aren’t nearly as good as PvE sets.
As right now, we randomly get trash armor from doing PvP, and with PvP vendors, the only thing that’d change would be that we get to choose what trash piece we want. Is there a significant change? If PvE sets keep being better than PvP sets in PVP CONTENT then vendors are absolutely useless.
As far as I know, there isn’t going to be a “huge system” with gear like tier sets and azerite armor. So, theoretically, PVP gear from the vendor should be exactly like PVE gear? The only difference will be trinkets and stuff like that.
Hmm… it’s a pve oriented game but they used to do a lot better with pvp gearing.
Vanilla you had to pve
TBC you could just pvp
Wrath you could just pvp
Cata you could just pvp
Mop you could just pvp
WoD you could just pvp
Legion you had to pve
BfA you can barely even gear through pvp.
Seems to me that 5 expansions out of 7 (and unbalanced vanilla, but that was a mess regardless) is a greater number where pvp mattered more to pvp players.
PvP and PvE should be separate, because they are two entirely different styles of gameplay
That is a problem with unbalanced BFA corruptions, those will have no impact in Shadowlands PvP as they won’t work. WIth things like AZ armor gone, no HoA, no Essences and no corruption things will be more balanced then the “wild west” state PvP is right now.
Not a single one of those expansions you could pvp 100%.
All required some raiding to obtain BiS needed for pvp. Or factions to access things.
Especially Tiers that had Legendaries:
Ashkandi/sulfuras
Shadowmourne
Fangs
Dragonwrath
Cloak
Ring
Artifacts
Forget about trinkets… the bane of every pvp’er.
Both are intrinsically joined and it is absurd to want to be completely separate.
I get the point though, this season and this whole expansion has been a pvp disaster. And classes are at an all time broken. But this notion that pvp players should be able to skip 100% pve in this game is a dumb idea. That isn’t what wow is.
