Shadowlands Preview: Character Customization

I spend 0.000001% of my time looking at my character’s face, and 0% of the time looking at other characters’ faces. I would be much more interested if you were to improve the looks of older armors and weapons (and make it less of a pain to get a matching set).

Truly excited for the changes but there is one thing that’s been bothering me for months and I’ve tried to bring attention to it but I’m a nobody in the world of WoW and I’m sure not a lot of people use xmogs for this to matter or even want to use this void elf skin tone option but I’d figured I’d post it here too.

One of the new skintones for the void elves (I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the blood elves) has the bra showing through transmog and it’s the ONLY skintone that does it which happens to be the one I want to use.

Example:

Now here are 2 others where I just changed the skintone, nothing else and no bra strap:

Another example, my hunter:

And how she is on live, no bra showing through the transmog:

Like I said, there probably aren’t a lot of people with transmogs and that want to use this skintone to actually bring attention to this but I’ve been hoping it would have been fixed for months now but it’s still there. I hope that someone at blizzard sees this at some point, even if it’s months from now. I just hope it gets fixed.

Thanks!

All you can do it bug report it on the PTR and hope others do as well. The more reports about it, hopefully the more likely it will get addressed.

Werewolves of the kind Worgen are based on specifically, do not have tails. In fact werewolves without tales are the more COMMON appearance. The entire thing in the running wild animation where one leg extends really far back is also accurate to this style of werewolf.

“the werewolf could be distinguished from a regular wolf by the fact that it would run on three legs, stretching the fourth one backwards to look like a tail.”

I personally hope blizzard sticks to their guns on this one instead of caving to the moans of the community. Worgen DO NOT need tails. The community needs to GET OVER the fact that Worgen do not have tails.

Yeah–uh–cab worgen have more than being literally the most ignored race for new customizations? You play the worgen to play a werewolf, which got a few new skin tones, new eyes, and nothing else?

How is this even remotely comparable to races that got a dozen new categories of options?

As much as I like the changes to undead females, I feel like they’re all completely ruined by what seems like a complete lack of oversight on proportion. The shoulders and arms are waaaaay too large and masculine. It looks like they ran out of time and just settled on a “working model” that had the males arms and shoulders used as temporary place-holders. Such a disappointment.

Can we get Blue/black hair for humans, like a true one that looks the same across all hair types. The default human hair looks really bad in comparison with the new styles.

I hope Blizzard will be able to add tails with an option to Worgen, since the race seems to be getting less improvements, again, than blood elves, orcs and others.

Including upright posture would also be a good thing. Pure Black color, Jewels and a better characterization of the height that “the lore says we have”, at some point in the future, to improve the customization that we have today.

The worgen need so much.

  • Solid true black fur option - no white hands or feet or fingers or toes, a deep, solid, rich black like the new white, but black
  • Options to have a wolf tail or not
  • Scar options
  • Bigger and/or lore height and/or at least upright posture for males (females could use a hunched option, really)
  • Piercings and necklaces (for males and females)
  • Ear options that actually look like a wolf’s
  • Male ears actually move and emote again
  • Teeth customization options (maybe even one that lets males get anatomically correct teeth, with lower canines in front and uppers behind)
  • Wolf druid forms and/or the ability to tank and DPS in worgen form using claws

Humans could use more, too, same with Kul’tirans.

  • Tattoos
  • Scar options
  • Stubble facial hair option
  • Body hair options would be cool, but that’s a pipe dream

These things would make all of those races more comparable with some of the ones that disproportionately got a lot more new, fun options to actually look unique (orcs, tauren especially but also night elves and dwarves are doing pretty well).

If Blizzard doesn’t want to give literally everyone tattoo and/or war paint options, they should at least be getting busy adding tons of shirts to the game that can provide that for all the races they’ve overlooked - like things the NPCs have.

This is awesome to see, very inclusive, and a cool nod to gender nonconforming folks with the option to switch your gender for a minimal amount of in game currency. THE ONLY THING I personally think it would be sick to see, is one free racial swap token for every allied race you unlock. I mean I’m gonna suck it up and pay to switch my main to a Vulpera as soon as pre patch hits, but I wish I didn’t have to
Keep up the good work Blizz.

Meant to post this from my retail main hahaha

I agree with each item quoted.
Many people agree and support ideas like these, being created.
I even understand and accept that they may not be possible now but can be added during the days to come.

What worgen has had so far was good but I am greedy and wish for more, because today there are ways to do more, when before it was more difficult and there were less resources to give us worgen as it should have been from day 1, instead of something unfinished, distorted and rushed.

Not being negative, ok a bit, but a few more shades of pastel for skin that will not be noticeable can hardly be called ground breaking.

I doubt there anything coming at this point but if there is PLEASE we need proper Highborne options for the Night Elves to reflect Azshara:
1.Regal hairstyles
2.More and regal jewelry like tiaras, rings, bracelets, armbands, necklaces etc.
3.Jewelry colors, Azshara has golden so there’s no reason why we can’t also have golden jewelry.
4.Azshara’s skin color
5.Make up like how Azshara has around her eyes
6.A slimmer body/muscle option like how Azshara or the Nightborne have (and let the Nightborne have the night elf body/muscle option!)

Yup, I’ve reported it in game and on the ptr bug report forums. Thing is, it’s something that can easily go unnoticed and you probably would never notice unless your character had certain transmogs so I doubt something like this would get any traction. I just kind of have to wait for the devs to notice it themselves.

leper gnome skins please

Cant wait for the customisation! SO EXCITED… Now to wait for prepatch… Whenever that is… Cause they haven’t announced it… And time is running out… and we better not just have two weeks or I will be very disappointed… or they will delay shadowlands… ANYWAYS HEHE

They are losing employees and hemorrhaging talent. Better get a refund option like we did for Warcraft because they wont meet deadlines again

BlizZard doesn’t know what it wants to be. WoW’s identity between RPG, action RPG, MOBA and MMORPG is fluid.

I think this is problematic.

Is this what the kids say these days?

I’m sad because we didn’t get any highborne option or moon themed markings :frowning: Why highborne fans are always ignored? First when they create the nightborne and made them a horde race and now with the customizations…
