You don’t need to play wow either yet here we are. I hate when people say “you don’t NEED flying”. Of course nobody NEEDS flying but the game is infinitely better with flying. You don’t NEED to eat at a restaurant but when you do it’s nice.
They need to have flying zones back and just give flying from the get go.
Shadowlands is a perfect world for this to happen with disconnected floating zones.
but but that would show Watcher his vision of no flight at the beginning of an expansion was WRONG and you know he isn’t capable of admitting he ever makes a mistake
look at every interview he gives everything he talks about is a stroke of genius and how hes happy with the way the designs are going even though tons of players are disagreeing with him he simply pretends all is well
Because subscriptions are money and a metric they use to make stockbois happy.
I unsubbed as well back around 8.1’s launch because not having flight was an issue for me in BFA and i came back and got pathfinder. It didn’t bother me as much in legion so I didn’t unsub for any period of time.
This person specifically said they’d sub when pathfinder was fully available. They’re invested in the game, but they also want to have fun and flight is linked to their fun. Don’t like the posts, why comment on them and keep bumping them to the top when you do? Do you really think your opinion is gonna make people less likely to post them? If anything, you’re engaging in it and keeping it relevant and on the front page.
Or… you just like being an abrasive contrarian… either way, if you don’t like people complaining about pathfinder, maybe you should go read some other games forums or shut up.
edited for clarity, I unsubbed back in 8.1 and came back for Pathfinder P2, and am happily playing the game now and flying around.
just imagine the game when enough people actually listened and leave WoW they think the subs are bad now just think what itd look like when the game is so low of players theyd either
A be forced to merge servers and or close empty ones to cut down overhead costs
B go Free to play and basically end any future content
C just outright sunset WoW and write it off as finally too financially burdened to keep operating
so go ahead and keep telling people to quit and leave I guarantee you its not helping improve the game quite the contrary its helping speed up its own demise
It will be halfway through the expansion, at best. In the early zones, they don’t want you flying until it is outdated.
Not even Alpha and people are already whining about Pathfinder.
The whole “no flying means more immersion” stuff is just a load of crap the devs spew to mask their real intent which is padding those time-played metrics. Immersion is not some universal one-size-fits-all thing anyway like anti-fliers believe. It’s completely subjective. The only thing really wrong with Pathfinder is the time gate. If it wasn’t time-gated I guarantee you complaints wouldn’t be even half what they are now.
But really, it just boils down to what’s already been said a million times before. Flying wasn’t an issue until Blizz made it one.
well we tried voicing an opinion AFTER the game went live yet sadly it was too late to change so that leaves only one option speak up BEFORE the testing even starts
have you noticed all the complaints for flight to be removed were NEVER mentioned once until AFTER Blizzard decided flying bad and must be removed
odd that the people that hated the idea of flight never spoke up until Blizzard did
Exactly. No one except griefers on pvp servers complained about it. Then Blizz says it well after the precedent is set that flying is a part of the game then out of nowhere anti-fliers come out in droves like they’re trying to brown nose the cool kid in the class.
Who’s we? You got a turd in your pocket?
People having been complaining for YEARS and NOTHING has changed. But I’m sure yours will be the one that changes everything.
Pathfinder is here to stay.
must be Watcher on an alt but just remember sooner or later his ego is going to cause enough players to leave WoW and his bosses will not be happy seeing that money leave with them and he will find himself replaced
Only time will tell.
yeah well time is not on his side and every new expansion he does this it ends up costing more subs when players get tired of being jerked around and told your wrong for liking a feature that was part of the game obtained by gold far longer than it was gated by his obvious attempt to remove it
So because you think a certain way everyone needs to think like you.
If you wait until flying is out to do Pathfinder all at once you’ll just hate it even more because you can’t gradually do it as you complete content.
But then, that’s probably your intent.
If only the world actually WAS bigger and more interesting. Perhaps you don’t mind the terrain blinders. Grinding away on the cud of the same world quests over and over may have a certain bucolic appeal to some.
But lots of paying customers want some agency, some choice and some options. From behind the split-rail that may look like heretical notions but for a lot of people, that’s what they are paying for.
So, to be yoked with time gates, bridled with rep grinds and saddled with petulant demands to offer hosannas to the content divas while pulling at the traces of some huge developer ego, it feels suffocatingly linear and controlled by someone who is collecting my sub, not paying it.
But it doesn’t have to be. Some of us remember a time when the game was open and amazing. There were all kinds of directions one could go and all kinds of things one could do. The idea of exhausting an area of its potential was ridiculous.
And that’s why we don’t quit.
There are plenty of games out there beneath mention because they don’t have it, never had it, and probably never will.
But WoW did. And some of us want to believe it can again.
So if you want to walk around on the ground and do that same WQ over and over until you are gated out for the week. I want to support you in that. I want you to be able to do that.
But some of us want other options that are just as viable, just as correct and just as stirring to the inner kid we bring to the game.
And one of those things is definitely flight.
I like Pathfinder and I’m looking forward to Shadowlands. Already pre ordered so not everyone is as unhappy as you seem to be.
Also calling out a Blizzard is a CoC violation.
hence why we refuse to just simply walk away and remain silent some of us actually care enough to want to see change sadly Blizzard believes they are incapable of being wrong thus the reason they keep going in the direction its going
its all ego and hubris at this point refusing to accept the fact they are making bad decisions even as the game loses more players each day seems like Watcher would rather see WoW die off before admitting his mistakes and vision are the main reasons its suffering
in fact the recent interview he gave should be more proof of what is bad wrong with WoW and he still thinks hes doing wonderful work despite the fact people are pointing out several issues he simply ignores it all and acts like everything is perfectly fine
