Anyone else here feeling like they phoned it in for mail armor? There’s a neat piece here and there, but when it came to choosing a covenant, I was not compelled by anyone’s set.
I’m hoping this improves with Nathria. Strongly disliked BFA’s mail sets too.
The leather Necrolord set is legitimately the worst looking set I have ever seen in 14+ years of WoW.
I actually like the necro and ven mail sets but they really only fit like… certain specs. Like, I would pretty much only use necros mail set for enh shaman and surv hunter. 2 specs that really dont get much play in the first place.
Yeah, it’s pretty bad. Just saying the mail sets are odd. I almost like the Night Fae set, but the colors are…no.
Survival hunter I can see, but I’ve played Shaman since Vanilla, and that ain’t even close to getting it done.
At worst, saying it’s “phoned in” makes it par for the course. They very likely design Mail last, and any ideas they come up with that could work for Hunters ends up being spent on Druids.
That aside, the Mail legendary and Nathria sets look pretty good, and their Kyrian and Night Fae sets are the best of their respective Covenants, at least in my opinion. Maybe not oozing with Hunter/Shaman personality, but still good.
I like the Night Fae set alright, but the colors are terrible.
I dunno. Maybe phoned in is wrong-there was obviously effort applied, but it feels like they burned all the good ideas on other sets. It’s a bit upsetting-Shaman and Hunters are easily similar classes at least thematically (outdoorsy, wear mail, probably a bit savage); it just feels like they could channel that a bit more easily.
I will never forgive mail users for getting the red variant of the drust mask
The only decent mail set from BFA was the darkshore horde side one. The alliance was ok, but only really worked on night elves.
yeah it sucks that there is a lack of cool mail armors.
The legendary set looks great, unfortunately you can’t mog it because ion hates fun.
Mail has always had crappy design to it. I hate wearing it on my hunter.

tier 6 is great
I like the way the PoA vendor color for the Kyrian fits with a void elf. It just sits well on void elf females, too.
I think its a bit nice to get away from wearing dead animals all the time.
I really like the Night fae set, it feels more druidish which is great for the hunters that see themselves more of protectors of the wild then big game hunters.
I was going to check out the other covenant options as I remembered venthyr looking good as well but it seems they removed that dialog from the npcs.
I don’t like the questing and dungeon gear looks though. Its not my cup of tea but at least its different.
It was painfully red and not impressive to me. I did like the Rift Stalker set though.
Mail almost always sucks. Just them not firing who designs that crap for 'em
