Shadowlands is the first expansion I'm not hyped about

You must be a delight at parties with that attitude

It is sad, I would even be in favor of war mode disabling flying without pathfinder just so they could see how many people care/don’t care. Sadly they come here acting as though the rest of us in favor should be grateful Ion even allows it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I find people who assume the one and only reason for hating pathfinder is laziness, to be idiots.

Best to ignore them or I’d be in favor of an ignore option for forums.

I long advocated for “no flight” servers … servers with flight locked everywhere to accommodate those players claiming to “hate flight.”

I like your idea as well.

But we all know, everyone loves to fly. People who claim not to have purchased all flight skills and have vast collections of flying mounts.

shadowlands is just going to be more of the same grind systems from Legion/BfA with a tiny amount of player agency added back in

the current team has clearly decided that increasing grinds is better than people finishing the content - about 99% of their decisions adhere to this maxim

they are no longer designing a game that they love and want others to play, they are designing a spreadsheet game around behavior and retention analytics

Once I can tell someone is a “YOU WILL NOT FLY AND YOU WILL WORSHIP ION” type I do “ignore” them as best I can. The others I try to engage in discourse because I’m curious if they have actual solutions or if they’re “No you must suffer because I feel engaged seeing people who never talk but simply sit there waiting for a spawn”.

I mean it’s w/e to me, but i just want to hear about pvp stuff soon. I’ll be buying it regardless cuz i’ve dedicated too much time on my account to not play anymore but this expansion i have taken lots and lots of breaks

like right now i could play if i wanted. i’m not doing anything today – i just simply don’t want to cuz idk what to do lol. Either keep playing this undead monk i got from 25-30 last night or just do dumb end-game and have all of it be worthless come SL

Yeah, lets give our opinions on a expansion thats a little over a year away from being released, its not like what we’ve seen at blizzcon looks to be in early development or anything. Seriously, i don’t get why people don’t just wait till beta or alpha is released to start throwing out their opinions.

How can you hate something that isn’t even out yet, we barely got any information on the systems for SL. Almost all the interviews ive seen, they keep saying they aren’t even sure how some of the systems will even work. Lets wait till beta comes out to start bashing on it.

Yep, the reveal was a MASSIVE disappointment imo.

BFA seemed really promising to start and look how it turned out.

On to upside, shadow lands gets us away from Azeroth and hopefully the crap BFA turned into.

Hopefully the level squish and leveling experience will bring in more users, and provide a foundation for future expansions.

So you want a new class? In a game that is suffering from a complete mess of balancing? I admit that they didn’t release all that much information, but if we use our collective heads, maybe its because everything is still in early development? But hey, lets all form opinions that the little sneak peak we saw at blizzcon is just going to be trash.

it most likely will… i mean if we can quest in any zone in WoW up to i think 50 ? from what i know, yea that will be great

Yes. Imo a new class every ~4 years has done wonders to keep things feeling fresh from a gameplay perspective.

Don’t kid yourself, all of the major additions have already been decided on even if the details are still being worked out. The reveal is their biggest opportunity to create hype and push pre-sales, so it’s pretty much guaranteed that all the big stuff has already been announced.

On the contrary, I’m more hyped about Shadowlands than any expansion since WotLK. I hope Blizz will take some lessons from Classic(i.e. dont make the main game too easy/simple) and we’ll get some truly memorable dungeons once again.

Ah yes! lets add another 3 specs to the game, who cares about balance when theres something new and shiny. Do you really want that? Im all for a new class or hell even some new 4th specs, but with how serious the balancing issue is right now id rather they spend an expansion fixing up the under performing specs then add a new class to the mix.

Im being optimistic at best, but even I’m going to wait till beta to form an opinion. Instead why don’t we offer feedback on what has been announced instead of just bashing on it. But at the end of the day, your going to do whatever you want. Knowing the wow playerbase everyone is still going to try it out.

It’s painfully obvious that it’s simply time to move on.

They need to make a new game.

Crappy re-releases and lazy expansions aren’t going to cut it anymore.

People are bored of the basic gameplay loop. They need something fresh and different that people actually have to learn again.

Legion was a diamond in the rough indeed.

WOD/BFA were failures, and shadowlands will likely disappoint as well.

Yeah, I have always kinda felt that the people saying “the devs have lost their passion for the game” were being kind of overdramatic, but now… I think the devs have lost their passion for the game. There’s just nothing new that is worthy of attention coming out of the next expansion. I can’t believe they didn’t give us a new class.

I feel like we are losing content over Blizzard doing a level squish and fixing what they broke with classes.

Level squish does not appeal to me at all in fact I think its just foolish. All the things they are doing to change leveling could be done without squishing levels. If they had a more interesting talent tree leveling would be fine. I mean how many other MMO’s out there take you past 100 and every single level you have something to look forward to?

Far as the class fixes from what they said they are not going to change them that much just add back a handful of abilities. I don’t see why we needed a whole new expansion for that.

Covenants sound like more borrowed power which is not much fun to grind IMO. Its also pretty lazy to not even have faction specific questing that is just another sign of cutting corners to save a dollar. We shouldn’t get shortchanged a new class because they want to take time to fix the current classes. Umm they were the ones who broke them in the first place. People not only never asked for those changes but begged them not to do it. Now we get less content so they can fix what they broke.

Between all of that and Ion’s statement about Pathfinder being the same I don’t have much desire at all. Get sick of grinding out pathfinder every single expansion just to get a basic feature back.
