Honestly don’t even care about the XP reduction. Doing the Maw intro questline is just so boring, and the breadcrumb quests that you have all over SL bored me to tears. It was sooooooooo boring that I went back to BFA to quest while waiting on the insanely long cata dungeon queues. Literally do anything except Shadowlands at this point
Being bored is your problem, I’m sorry.
Just wait until Dragonflight. Being bored in the Maw/SL isn’t just your problem, it’s such a problem that going forward you won’t have to touch SL at all while leveling after this expansion is over.
I hit a wall once I hit 48-50 and have to go through Shadowlands. I’ve seen other people say the same thing.
I have leveled 40 toons through SL, really have had no issue. Yes, I am very much ready for Dragonfight xpac. But no different than at the end of any other xpac in the past. The fact that Shadowlands is over with and now all that is left is doing the same things over and over again in it for really little or no feeling of reward.
You can skip the maw, if you want. It’s not mandatory to do anymore.
I don’t like questing in SL either though and I do really miss Azeroth =/
Can’t wait for DF when any new character I make can go from 1 to 60 in Cata Chromie time.
I mostly skip the maw intro and then just gather and do pet battles and some non combat quests
Lol that’s what I’m doing right now. My Monk went from 50 to now 58 doing the daily pet battle masters in vanilla to WoD.
Sick of SL.
Why do I feel like the pet battle grind would feel less tedious lol
Sure feels that way. Plus, I’m killing two birds with one stone. I leveled all my pets to 25 years ago so now I level them for profit.
Look, shadow lands is not a great expansion.
I know we love to exaggerate but come on
Listen I’ve been so bored in SL outside of doing keys/raids with the guild I’m in (who honestly are part of the reason I don’t take a break, cause I’d miss them.) that I’ve been debating leveling a panda to cap on their starting island just to see if I have the patience for it like that one player did. Hahaha.
I still am working on gathering toons so just doing the ones in SL - ones I get to the ones with no gathering I might do that.
Oh god…shudder…I have not dared to try that feature out in so many years outside the Oribos weekly that came a few weeks ago. I couldn’t win a single match after hours upon hours upon hours. Never touching that again.
It’s not that bad. I leveled a panda on the island from 1 to 39 because I wanted to tame this guy:
If you think about it, that level gate, the race gate and the fact it keeps its name makes it an extremely rare pet. I herbed and mined to about 30 when the exp drops off drastically then switched to the 5 pet battle dailies that can be completed account wide.
You can level an alt in the old world. Just never talk to Cromie and go to your favorite zone and quest away.
Why imply leveling in the end-game zone hasn’t been in wow since the beginning?
Even FF makes you level in the end-game zone to some degree. You can do roulettes once a day for EXP, or the beast tribe quest in that respective expansion, or some other stuff specific to that expansion. But you can’t shouldn’t level in the lower expansions. It just doesn’t make sense.
I’m not trying to advocate against your ask. I don’t see a problem with opening 50-60 leveling to everything after a year of the expansion’s release.
i dont think so, dont be a shill
I like Shadowlands leveling and I’m definitely not a shill so… yeah.
Lol. Sounds like a you thing.
A gambler or a swindler? I don’t get it.
My point is that people who declare boredom want to imply that the situation should rise up to meet some undisclosed standard for their satisfaction. In general, not necessarily the OP. Being bored is a sad state; blaming the things around you is weaksauce.
