The best expansion since the big 3 (vanilla, tbc wotlk) which were deep into RPG elements.
I hope everything they are planning all comes together in the end. I still want the game to get a bit closer to the big 3, with a similar gearing system which didn’t completely make a tier useless, but that’s already a huge step in the right direction.

I loved wrath and would go back anytime.
I’m fully focusing on classic atm, I really hate the state of BFA.

Well, I disagree with your top 3, and I am not yet ready to declare Shadowlands at the top. That said, this is the first expansion I have really looked forward to since MoP… and that ended up being my favorite expansion so I am definitely hopeful.
Seems like it’s a bit early to say it’s the best or the worst.

Yeah… I’m going to say no to it being the best. But, hopefully it well not reach the lows of WoD.
My prediction, it will be like the last 3, crappy until final patch, then its ok.
I think the cycle is continuing of good then bad then good since I thought MOP was good followed by WOD after was Legion then BFA now Shadowlands so far it looks way better then BFA and WOD.

Just looking at the customization options and returning utility skills does it for me, honestly. Blizz has lagged SO far behind every single other MMO when it comes to customization.

Most people should still hate it imo.
It brought about most of the systems which took the game down the path it is walking today.
Gameplay wise its looking very promising.
Story…its a bit on thin ice.
I’m honestly on the other side of the fence, not too fussed about storyline but I need to see the development of the systems in action to make judgement.
How much of class identity is being brought back, what happens to TF/WF, how bad are the weekly grinds and will the content of the grind be the same from 9.0 to 9.3, will cache rewards be over the top and devalue the actual content that awards it, will PvP rewards be RNG or will PvP currency see a return.
These are all big things for me that will ultimately determine whether the gameplay is good, or even simply worth returning for.

I’m not sure how it will play out…but I’m enthusiastic enough to have popped for the Epic version pre-purchase. And I like the matching mount/pet/mog thing asd well.
Class identity is important to me too. But DK is the only class I care about. As long as DK is fun thats all that matters to me.
Hope they do changes things for PvP and vendors isn’t one of them.

Odd, for me Wrath was the best expansion they ever had. It has been down hill since then.

How? What’s actually changing? New zones and character updates could be made in a patch…
From the looks of the Logo itself, Shadowlands apears to be sculpted and forged by my favorite Dev Team.
What is defining about this xpac that sets it apart from the previous ones? We’re getting new zones, new dungeons, and new quests, just like every other xpac.
The only promising things they’ve said are literally fixing their own mistakes. No artifact grind, giving us back skills they took away, focusing on class identity instead of spec, giving us more character customization, etc.
If there was a theme for this xpac it’d be “whoops our bad, let’s do this instead.”
Meanwhile they’ve yet to reveal anything that really sets this xpac apart from the others the way nearly every xpac did before, by having their own class or race additions.
