Hello.
A friend of mine has a level 11 Twink. He went to grab some rings from Necrotic Wake and found that the loot dropping (while in Shadowlands Timewalking) was ilvl 200-something and requiring level 50. He is unable to get wearable loot from Shadowlands Dungeons on that character. We tried both manually entering and queueing via LFD. Same problem either way.
It is not a global thing. I also have a level 11. I am getting the appropriate Level 11 / ilvl 30 or so drops.
The only difference we’ve noticed is that he did the Shadowlands / Oribos intro quests recently (a couple days ago) whereas I did mine before 11.0.7. This is required to gain access to the flight master to travel anywhere in Shadowlands.
His Oribos Intro was acting as if he had selected Threads of Fate - it had him choose his covenant and everything. This is not normally how the intro goes unless you’re in the actual shadowlands level bracket (not just chromie time). He was not given an option, it just forced him into that version of the intro.
We suspect something about this “adventure mode” style leveling is triggering the the standard un-scaled loot drops in dungeons.
Is this a known bug already?
Certain Twinking guides mention this bug so it’s definitely not just him.
Anyway, for us it was an annoyance that we could get around by just trading the usable loot my character got, so we’re not stuck or anything –
– But this seems like something that could potentially be impacting anyone playing a new character in shadowlands content, which I think raises the bar a little for this being worth looking into.
I have not tried testing it on a new character yet myself.
