Random bgs still exist in SL. That is as casual as it gets.
Somebody link the coffin dance for zeeless’s forum career
WOD had more than just raiding and pvp for casual players imo.
Firstly it was the most alt friendly expansion ever and the levelling experience was great. This meant I had a max lvl of every class for the first time ever.
Secondly why is no one mentioning garrisons? Maybe not my fav thing but it was viable the whole expansion.
I also did dungeons for longer as their drops were more viable. Same with LFR. Gear actually was decent for casual players in LFR so I did it for more than a few weeks like the touring mode it has become in more recent expansions.
And Tanaan jungle had quite a lot of content for a casual player as well.
And it has been said but I loved Ashran. I geared all my alts through it.
I enjoyed all this content more than SL offerings as a casual player.
To me WOD had the opposite problem. It did not have enough content for hardcore players. I was happy as a lark in WoD as a filthy casual.
The world quest in this expansion are atrocious compared to previous expansions
They’re designed to suck the life out of you.
They are designed to not just be steam rolled in seconds?
Wow, how horrible.
They did and I said “gold” which means garrisons.
The “leveling experience” was not enough content for 2 years.
Tanaan Jungle took about a month to complete but sure, that month was pretty fun.
I enjoyed WOD greatly. We all have our own opinions. I think WOD was the last time I enjoyed PVP. I actually enjoyed the garrison. As a hunter having a stable was a blast.
I played the heck out of ashran. That was WOD wasn’t it?
Maybe I was in a different place in my life. Maybe I had more time to play or something. Atm shadowlands doesn’t compare to WOD at this point.
Don’t be obtuse.
You know full well that Torghast can be punishing depending on the Anima powers you get.
You get 6 floors of junk powers and even a first floor boss can wreck your day.
The overworld, without gear above about 190 isn’t fun to do, as you sit there for 5 minutes killing a normal monster, might as well forget about an elite.
World quests are terrible and reward nothing usuable except for a paltry amount of anima or gold.
Callings also reward nothing usable and wqs are so painful this expansion
Maw and Torghast are not suitable for casual players.
Actual gear progression? I would rather gear up in any expansion besides this one.
Sanctum upgrades are hardly anything to be excited about as they come with no story or playable content.

Fair enough
I know what you mean.
The thing I dislike most is the outdoor zone mob scaling. With everything level 60 and areas where it’s hard to even ride because of elites, gathering or grinding out meats is time-consuming enough that I don’t want to bother. Fishing is awful even when you can find a rare spot without mobs, nothing fun to try to catch. Add that to all the disappearing herb nodes from sharding glitches and I just buy a WoW token and raid log. Perhaps it’s working as intended?
And yeah, I just failed a Mort’regar run on my mage because she got garbage anima powers and almost no phantasma.
I think WOD was the last time I enjoyed PVP.
The unkillable healer meta from WOD to BFA can stay dead tbh.
I played a healer. Lol. Maybe that was why I liked it.

I’ll take that over Rogue/Ret/mages sneezing past the competition.
Knowing a Prot Paladin is a better healer than a Mistweaver is unacceptable.
I have to watch myself when typing on the forums. I sometimes make it sound like I’m speaking for everyone. We all do that from time to time.
Truth is your least favorite expansion might be someone’s favorite.

Yea this has been a thing since arena released.
The fact that you can actually down healers now is a good thing.

I really enjoyed WOD as well, so you’re not alone. It lacked content, but it was very accessible. I spent a lot of time PVPing, raiding, and playing around with my garrison. I just wish they had more content for the expansion.
You know what I get a chuckle from. Most of the media influencers who preached to blizzard to implement the loot system and difficulty in slands. Don’t play the content they wanted. They either don’t raid anymore, their guild collapsed, or they are taking a long break. While we the fun seekers are stuck with this expansion that was catered to elite adrenaline dopamine junkies. Heck even most of the deva don’t even raid or do mythic plus hardcore. Why because in my opinion it’s exhausting to play this game now.
The problem is the developers dropped the ball big time with the dev cycle in WOD. So I don’t blame the people that are irritated by that aspect of WOD.
WoD pvp with ashran was good because you didnt need to leave, it was always full… it was always battles but it was most of the time filled with hydra premades
But that didnt make the system bad or anything it was nice the combination between ashran and gearing in general.
As for the thread it’s really difficult to find fun things to do without either spending so much time setting something up or the fun ends too quick.
