In shadowlands there are 4 covenants each with their own unique ability for each class. We currently only have 2 races for demon hunter, night elf and blood elf.
As it stands I can’t justify 2 additional demon hunters so I can have one in each covenant. Therefore demon hunters need to receive more race options. Both draenei and orcs can easily work. Eredar and turncoat draenei could have been in illidan’s army and received training. Fel/chaos orcs definitely were in his army and could have received training.
Blizzard please give demon hunter to more races.

Could keep it elf-only and allow the Nightborne and Ren’dorei.

Draenei demon hunters with Broken draenei customization options would be very lore friendly. Orcs too, but they’d probably have to be fel orcs.
Bottom line; there’s a lot that can be done with this idea.

Not a bad idea but I’d like to see Orcs and Draenei given their history with demons.

Sounds like we need to rethink the whole Demon Hunter thing. Maybe it’s just unworkable? We have enough classes, we can just drop them.
I think Draenei and Orc Demon Hunter’s are the way to go, easily explainable in lore because they were in Outland at the same time.

Still waiting on blizzard to canonize gnome demon hunters. They have to cave at some point

You can thank Illidan for that. He specifically only allowed night and blood elves to become demon hunters. Orcs and draenei weren’t able to join the club, that was actually a rule of his.
With the Legion defeated the Illidari probably won’t have much luck recruiting either. Since there’s also a good chance you’ll just die or go insane in the initiation process.

Nightborne maybe, it’s not like the Suramar ones were the only ones, though technically any outside of Suramar at the time would of course be Highborne instead, Ren’dorei DH doesn’t just shatter the lore timeline, but completely ignores super-canon implications that Void and Fel energies don’t mix. Not that it matters much, we’ve meddled in Azeroth’s cosmology so much that even the basic laws of reality are now immutably twisted by now
.
Well that’s just a shame now innit?

Void and Fel might not mix, but it didn’t stop Void Elf Warlocks. I suppose that’s… more gameplay/story segregation, though? Like, they’re supposed to be Rift Wardens and all that or something.
Yo. Names Illibling. My eyebeams are made of gold and I use my spectral sight to find the best deals anywhere. Don’t toy with me. You aint got the life insurance pal. You think you know the meaning of sacrifice? I sacrificed my bank account. What you given?

I mean we used some random crappy necklace to blow up an old god , i think we can throw the lore on class/race combination out the window at this point :S
Cromgaru try to imag…imig…SEE IN HEAD about gnome as DH
Cromgaru has not had such good laugh since Illidan give big wind-chime the great green eyeball.

I think most casters just sort of “channel” the more contradictory of the 2 or more energies they use outside of their body; like how jaina probably doesn’t have like literal ice blood or aside from maybe demonology Warlocks most Warlocks probably don’t drink or consume demon Fel-blood or energies the way Demon Hunters do, The exception we know of being Gul’dan. Same with like Discipline priests who use both light and shadow magics, especially when considering that the Light requires a firm moral constitution to use bound by laws Naaru and such set forth, therefore I imagine discipline priests probably channel Void and shadow magics outside their bodies and are limited in how they use it to do “what” they do with it to the same degree as The Light they also utilize. If they can’t do it with the light they likely can’t be anymore brutal or cruel with the Shadow energy than necessary and what not.
That is the logical choice I was thinking of, but I doubt that would satisfy those looking for more.
