When did Blizzard stop making new armor sets? Everything in SL is just a recolor. The new korthia armor set? Recolor of dungeon gear. Dungeon gear. Recolor of questing gear. Questing gear. Comes in 3 other recolors. Nothing new. 9.1 Raid gear? Its your legendary armor recolored. Atleast 3 of the weapons in the new raid are just recolors / slight updates.
I mean man I guess covid drained the art team of any and all ability to make anything different. Must be nothing but adult coloring books for them.

i’m still willing to bet in 9.2 the tier sets are going to be general armour type like we have now with an effect that changes depending on class

I don’t know the exact numbers for previous x-packs…but Shadow Lands launched with
2 Dungeon Sets for each armor type
4 Covenant Sets for each armor type
1 Raid set for each armor type
1 Legendary Set for each armor type
and 3 unique back items for each covenant
9.1 Added an additional raid set and covenant set.
So that’s 40 unique armor sets and 12 unique back options at this point. That sure seems like a lot of new armor to me.

Legion was the last time they did class specific armor sets for each raid. Although all of the Tomb of Sargeras sets are just remasters of the Black Temple ones from yesteryear, they’re still some of my favorites. The Hunter and Druid ones are magnificent. I look forward to being able to fully solo Legion mythic raids soon. I’ve waited all expansion.

Legion was the last time they cared about class identity.
It’s pretty obvious they trying to save as much time they can with 9.1 be reusing assets and reducing the work load (only 4 Covenant sets).
This could mean a big 9.2 patch or a big futur expansion.

The cove set sure. the raid set? No. Your raid set is your legendary set recolored 4 times.
The 2 dungeon sets are just recolors of one another. Thats not new lol which is recolors of the quest set.
So we got.
4 cov sets
1 quest/dungeon set/honor gear set
1 raid set (Which is also the pvp set)
1 legendary set, that you can’t xmog or ever wear the full thing.
9.1 adds. Ability to wear recolor of legendary set (Raid set/pvp set)
Recolor to honor gear So same dungeon set recolored again.
cov cosmetics.
and thats it. Oh lets not forget Korthia. Which is again. The same dungeon tier set. Recolored again. lmfao.

Its hard to believe that Blizzard has cut so many corners… that even as they give us back Tier sets; we are convinced they will cut this kind of corner. Where the armor is so undesirable or unoriginal.

The Nathria raid plate set is awesome. To me that’s a very “warrior” looking & feeling set. This tier looks to be more in the traditional DK style… let’s see if the final raid isn’t more something Palys would favour.

But you are correct, the new raid set is the legendary set…
So 36 unique sets and 12 unique back options

Don’t forget covenant sets. I’m only not a fan of the night fae plate. The rest are great.
In Legion there was an auto grp finder for world quests.
In BfA they got rid of that and lowered rewards.
In Shadowlands they doubled down by making the quests take twice as long.
This is symbolic of the direction Blizz has gone the past 2 expansions. They keep making less and so they have to stretch further what little there is.

And honestly, for me anyway, there’s about 3 things worth it - and sorry, none of the mounts have really caught my fancy enough to work for them.
Is there any bows with quivers? I’ve got one from BFA I think, but that’s all I’ve seen. There is one set of the low slice glaives in Venthyr I want - and for my hunter a legendary arm I haven’t worked for, but that’s it. I really could use a wide silver cinch that doesn’t have that drapey thing on it, but that o ly comes in flavors anyway…/sigh and if you want anything else than big clunky boots fit for Warriors and DK’s that’s it
TBF, Sanctum of Domination armor looking like the legendary stuff is fine because you can only wear one legendary.
Being able to wear the full set of it will look cool.
But them profits are through the ROOF! Billions raking in by the quarter! They’re just lazy. They don’t care. I would hate to be a game developer on WoW as it stands now. You know they want the game to be better than it is at the moment. I bet they’re full of ideas, hopes, and aspirations on what they want the game to be. Nevertheless, their ideas more than likely get shutdown because some exec says “No! That costs too much money!” It’s so sad to see what the game has become.

Team has gotten more lazy after each expansion. It’s obvious higher profits doesn’t equal better game. They will continue to cut resources to increase profits

Yeah, I like all of the plate sets. Most of the others are truly awful. Luckily I need not worry since I have no time to play an alt in the alt friendly SL.
