Shadowlands Flying

I have never heard anyone say they loved spending weeks and weeks obtaining pathfinder to fly. Im not saying its a bad system but its also forcing everyone into the tedious process of grinding it out. I personally havent done any pathfinder since its release and am tired of it. At least give us an option to either buy flying with gold as an alternative or buy both pathfinder acheivements with money so we can actually spend the time playing how we would like without grinding this BS acheive. TIRED OF PATHFINDER BLIZZ!

The only reasonable compromise I can see between people who want to buy flying and people who like earning it with Pathfinder would be charging a pretty exorbitant sum for flight, and only making it go live when the first person in the region/world unlocks Pathfinder.

This would enable those who like Pathfinder to be able to earn it, and those who want to skip the grind to buy it, without giving either an advantage over the other.

Thanks OP we needed another thread about that.

Like what ? Raids, dungeons and PVP ? You don’t need flight for that.

Questlines and WQ ? Well you unlock flying by doing these.

Even if its 60$ for both I bet 90% of people would buy at least one part of pathfinder. 30$ each part or something along that area.

I think you would be most unpleasantly surprised if that were offered, and I similarly think Blizz would lose a lot of business by offering it.

In bird culture…

World pvp. WQ’s. ETC. I honestly doubt people would leave the game if you could do pathfinder or buy it… Im not sure if you remember when people bought it with gold or played then but it was a better system. Im not sure if your trolling the post or just havent experience wow without pathfinder.

You misunderstand. The distinction I was making was putting a real money price tag on it. Although, in fairness, given the availability of WoW Tokens, there will be a real money price tag on it if they offer it for gold, too. It’ll just fluctuate.

I dont like the idea of real money but as far as pathfinder goes blizzard makes money on subscription fee’s so the more time you spend grinding pathfinder the more revenue they generate. Thats why I added the real price tag on it.

I would be upset, but at the same time I would also be happy I could actually play the game again without having to wait a whole year of not playing it until flying is back in. Believe me, I’ve genuinely tried to enjoy this game without flying, I just can’t. I’m desperate for any option at this point to be able to fly a lot sooner in an expansion.

Ideally Blizzard could just not make us wait a whole year to fly in an expansion, but I’ve been asking for that for 3 expansions now (and they’ve said this is the plan for SL, too) and I’ve pretty much lost hope it will happen at this point.

I’m starting to think these threads are started by a handful of people who keep making forum alts to post these whine threads. They almost always look the same and it’s always some person with a couple posts to their name.

The thing is, even if they add a purchasing option, they’re not going to do it in such a way that the only means to obtain it in a timely fashion is by purchasing it. With that in mind, we can reasonably assume any such option would be forced to coincide with the Pathfinder unlock regardless of the finer points of how they choose to do that.

Personally, I like Pathfinder. There’s a time in an expansion for not flying, and a time when flying is appropriate. If you asked me whether I thought they’d gotten that timing right yet, I’d without a doubt say No, but that’s a different discussion than the means of obtaining it.

I honestly believe people would still buy it even if that was the case. You severely underestimate how many people hate doing world quests for timegated rep grinds in this game, myself included.

This is actually my first forum post since starting the game… its not a whine post is a quality of life change for the game most players I have asked agree with. Therefore I think your trolling the post rather than submit any kind of positive feed back or criticism. Toxic players will be toxic players.

It was almost a year for the last one.

Pathfinder isn’t a bad system but why make us wait that long?

It’s the same gripe I always see. People don’t want to play the game and want everything instantly rewarded to them. Pathfinder isn’t that bad or hard to get. You call me toxic but I say lazy entitlement gaming is toxic.

Oh, I have no doubt of that. It’s the only reasonable way I can see for them to find any sort of middle ground. And, honestly, I don’t have a problem with people who don’t want to do Pathfinder. I like Pathfinder. But it’s not for everyone. Different people lead different lives and have different tastes.

Ultimately, as long as they make sure both means of obtaining flight were as precisely equal in terms of time of availability, I doubt anyone would complain. However, I would suspect that putting a direct real-money price tag on it would damage their brand to an extent that the additional short-term revenue wouldn’t be worth it.

I don’t want to play the game if I can’t fly it in for a whole year regardless of if I’ve done the work or not. Most people on these forums make the same complaint. That’s not lazy, that’s just enjoying the game more if you can fly it, as flying has been in WoW for longer than it hasn’t. It’s not hard to see why most people would enjoy the game more with flying then.

Playing the game… what do you constitute playing the game? Grinding out reputations over and over and over? That is not what an MMO is so maybe you should play a different game if that is what you are in to?

This argument doesn’t stand up under scrutiny.

This game works that way, so maybe you should play a different game if that is what you are into?

Do you see how it’s not a solid argument to make, as it can easily be applied in reverse?

That’s what you do with or without flying anyway. Like I said you don’t need flight if you hate doing quests.
