Keep paying your sub and sooner or later the time gate content will open. Just like the cheap phone apps… pay $$ get power to continue the game. Shadowlands will kill WOW. There is not one good system in the game. Grind your borrowed power… wait a week… grind more… pay sub… grind more.
Now if I can just bring myself to unsubscribe. The problem is been playing since day one vanilla with a little break in cata and back for panda, probably miss the grind. Smh

I let others pay for my sub by selling raid carries. I would quit if I was paying my own money at this point. Yeah it’s probably just as bad spending someone else’s money buying tokens and supporting this junk but the sunk cost fallacy has me still. So many years spent in game it’s hard to let go even though it’s a shell of its former self.
Up until MoP even with things like the talent reworks it felt like the game was moving forward. WoD and Legion both felt like Blizzard trying to reinvent the game and messing up. WoD lacked content and Legion had terrible borrowed power systems…but Legions success of decent content and a fun story led them to try to replicate it two expansions in a row and failing hard at launch.
BFA never really got to a decent point like Legion did at the end and it’s still up in the air if SL can be good by 9.3
The question is how many will have quit for good by then?

You feel like, compared to BFA, this is significantly worse this expansion?

Strictly my opinion, yes. BfA has major flaws, no doubt. But it never reached a point where I had a day off work, with nothing to do, and didn’t bother logging in because I couldn’t stand it. That has been several days since launch with SL. Hence why I am here, and not playing the game.

Its better than BFA, worse than Legion, and waaay worse than everything before including WoD.
At least in WoD I could easily gear up 4 characters to PvP with and didn’t need 2400 rating to be on par with no-lifers since PvP gear was a static ilvl. I had fun doing Ashran, random BGs and getting the Lord of War title on my DK and Boomkin from the FFA arena…and that expansion sucked compared to MoP, TBC and Wrath which are still my top 3.

So what is the optimal Item level for pvp anyway? I honestly lost track.

226 with a 233 weapon(s). That’s when it’s “balanced” and what they are using on the tournament realm at least. You basically need to be around 40k HP unbuffed stacking vers and using double PvP trinkets.

I’m sure a variety of people have thoughts like that, but specifically, you feel like the game is akin to the sentiment stated here:
“cheap phone apps… pay $$ get power to continue the game.”
Or you are just generally dissatisfied and voicing that anywhere you can?

No just dissatisfied. And supporting anyone else who also is in the hopes that maybe, maybe, someone at Blizz will actually care. I know, stupid. But I hold out hope that between the Forums, and the emails I have sent, that maybe someone will care.
WoW has been my escape since 2008. When I needed a break from life, or felt stressed out, or needed to blow off steam. I could log on WoW, and for a few hours, let it out. Now… I honestly can’t bring myself to stay on even 1 hour. Froma guy who used to be on 3 - 4 hours a day, every day. In the last 2 days I think I’ve logged 40 minutes. If that. I hate to see it go. But, get used to disappointment right?

What borrowed power are you grinding?
…like this hasn’t been said for over a decade

Technically people have only been saying shadowlands will kill wow since it got announced. Besides, we all know vanilla wow killed wow. Things just weren’t the same after the game launched. It was destined to die.

SL has it’s issues, but to even remotely compare it to some crappy mobile game is low effort trolling at best.

The comparison seems a little extreme, but can’t say I’m not a little peeved about getting next to nothing for loot from the few mythic pluses that actually invite a feral.
Its pretty unfair for a newer player or even just someone gearing into pvp that you get auto deleted in bgs and arenas by the immensity of the scaling difference between entry gear and late mythic dungeon items.
There was a time in wow when a player in greens could outplay someone in epics, and there was an actual play by play game meta.
Now its mythic raiders and dungeon heroes stomping with literally 1.5x the health or more of entry players. Its extremely demoralizing

Sorry but I can’t help but laugh at you. How utterly sad. You should write a book, I’ll buy it.
I wish I had a dollar for everyone that complained on the forums that BC was killing WoW and it wouldn’t make it to a 2nd expansion.

Soul ash for legionaries, time gates for renown, instances for soul bind traits, renown for soul binds, anima for Covenant Sanctum (not a borrowed power but still a grind), reputation with Ve’nari for items to make Torghast a bit easier to grind soul ash… The list could go on

The game would be not to bad if gearing was not super slow. If you’re not clearing heroic fully and also getting a lucky with drops, you’re sol. I now killed 3 heroic bosses last week and 4 this week and got 0…I must have the worst luck, because gear never drops at all from any heroic bosses, only thing i get is from the vault.
I use to be a cutting edge raider but then i actually had the time to commit to it, now i raid very casually and run M+ when i can. When i did have the time i ran tons of M+ and got almost 0 loot. No way people are going to stay on this game the way loot is. People are adults now with families, can’t expect people to no life this game just to get gear.
