I agree , please remove this achievement. It’s ridiculous.
I was rather shocked. The other day I went back to SL to dig up some anima, and I got over 7K just flitting about in ZM, and doing whatever dailies were up.
Mind, I do have all of the anima upgrades in my Covenant, so that helped somewhat. But there was over a 1000 in the weekly quests in ZM and the three world bosses.
I imagine I could do that every week.
I actually did the math before. If you were going to farm, like, 100K anima, it’s faster to just grind it out than it is to upgrade your sanctum. Maybe the first one is worth it (it was pretty cheap), but the other levels were not. The sanctum upgrades don’t pay for themselves for quite some time.
Obviously, if upgrading the sanctum is the goal, then, it is what it is. But if you’re grinding for something else, don’t bother with the upgrades.
I really don’t think it breaks even until about 300K anima. So, if you “just” need 100K, and you don’t need to upgrade the sanctum, you probably shouldn’t.
But going back to actually farming anima, SL is pretty generous with it now. Run a couple of toons through each week, especially the low hanging fruit of the World Bosses, and it’ll stack right up.
I have all but one of the stitchcrafters weekly, really not fun just waiting for Chordy to have a specific quest.
I am well aware of the math which is why I never upgraded any of the sanctums past rank 2 during SL but this meta achievement requires you to upgrade all buildings to at least rank 3 on the same character for a separate sub achievement plus the Venthyr and Necrolord special buildings to rank 4 and 5 respectively for their parts of the Dilettante sub achievement.
The deeper I get into this meta achievement the more I regret ever starting it and the more I feel validated in my initial choice to quit SL after it became clear Blizzard were being extremely disrespectful of player time. As I said before this achievement exemplifies everything that was wrong with SL, which I suppose is fitting.
I don’t know if you thought writing this would make you seem clever or edgy but all it succeeded in doing is making me roll my eyes in mild irritation.
An achievement is climbing a mountain. This achievement asks you to climb a mountain in the midst of an avalanche barefoot, stark naked, and whilst jumping through flaming hoops all along the way to the top.
Just another entitlement post. OP believes he should get all in-game rewards in a time frame acceptable to him. Nothing should ever be made that he feels is too time consuming. Just give him the rewards, blizz, and make everyone play the game the way OP wants it played.
Hey OP, this meta achievement has zero effect on you. Your fomo and inability to enjoy commitment to a large time-consuming goal is not a reason to EVER make design changes. Comes off as selfish and egotistical no matter how you type it up. Simply play the content you can and let others enjoy what you can’t without demanding changes.

No thank you. I will continue to advocate for changes that I feel are for the better. Blizzard have already started responding to feedback asking for certain sub achievements to be removed from the DF meta achievement. It’s only a matter of time until they see reason and do it for the SL meta achievement as well.
Also my trying to make my life easier has absolutely no impact on you. If you want to do this annoying and time consuming achievement because you find it engaging, go for it. Just don’t force it onto others. Entitlement is asking for something without putting in any effort to get it. All I am asking is for an already monumental task to be made ever so slightly more manageable. Trying to twist that around only makes you look foolish.
Proposed changes and active changes have an effect on anyone currently working towards the achievement, so yes it has an impact on me. The only thing that doesn’t is you achieving or failing at your goal.
If this wasnt about you wanting the rewards, I’d understand. But you clearly state the only reason you are here is fomo about the reward.
I pity a world that has game devs that design based off your fomo. Entitlement is the idea you deserve something based on individual status, you made up the “for nothing” part to make yourself sound better… Entitlement can also be you expecting changes to make your life easier. Trying to twist it around to make me sound like i said “for nothing” only makes you look folish.

I’m fine with the achievement but they need to be consistent.
I got path of ascension’s requirement done in a day, ember court is easier now that it’s daily, and the mushroom thing is daily. Why is the abominable stitching still weekly??
They nerfed the ember court so why not nerf stitching to also be daily quests? That is my issue. The small rep grinds isn’t so bad but Stitching is gonna take forever from scratch. Not looking forward to the RNG too.
If they made it daily like the other covenants and put any RNG on a rotation I would not mind.

I cared about it, I like that title and still use it today.
I was playing it. Shadowlands had some great mounts and transmogs.
They’ve already taken steps that not only allow you to complete this meta after saying it was being removed, but have also nerfed several aspects of it.
Frankly, I think they should just give you the meta achievement with no requirements, I honestly think it’s the only way you wouldn’t complain.
Yeah, not only is it incredibly inconsistent but the unavoidable RNG aspects really makes you want to pull your hair out.
Right now I am done with everything else besides the exalted rep with the Enlightened because I never set foot in Zereth Mortis before I started working on this achievement and the amount you can get every week is limited. However, I am completely bricked on the Necrolord part of the Dilettante achievement because weeks have gone by but Mama Tomelin and Guillotine never get their 3rd quest. Apparently there is no rotation and every week it’s a toss up on which quest will be active. It’s so incredibly idiotic and asinine to make 2 of the constructs have 3 quests each and have 4 others with no quests at all. Why in the world would you do it that way when it’s a weekly reset? WHY!?

Oh you know what, you can just bugger off! How is asking for one stupid sub-achievement to be removed even remotely the same as asking to be given the entire meta achievement with no requirements!? I really can’t stand people who make these ridiculous claims.

2 things needs to be changed.
Necrolords abom stuff turned daily
ZM rep also coming from dailies, it took me a month with almost everything else completed back in SL just due to the rng of abom quests and the ZM rep with ridic grind.
They really dumped any care they ever had with their community with SL grinds.

Absolutely! Like I said I quit right after Sanctum because I couldn’t put up with this and good thing I did because apparently it only got worse from there with Zereth Mortis as the mother of all grinds.
I mean for crying out loud I just about spit out my drink when I realized just what was required to craft all the forge mounts and pets. The meta requires you to craft only 5 and the farming for that alone is almost as much work as everything else in that zone. It’s sheer madness!
I can honestly say now after having gone through this if I had stuck around and done it in SL I would have been so burned out and fed up that I probably would have quit the game for good and never come back in DF. That’s how bad it is, at least for me.

There is 0 reason to change this achievement.
though I agree it’s stupid how much more involved necro/venthyr was from the other two. but that’s what it was, so it should stay.

i did shadowlands dilletant under a time limit to get the veilstrider title end of shadowlands, you’ll be fine doing it with an unlimited time duration.
It’s an achievement. Not a gift.
Doubt it. Even if you compare the low point of Shadowlands sub numbers to DF subs. Shadowlands players would be a majority.
It’s already been rereleased and nerfed. Let’s just go all the way instead of taking baby steps there.
