Shadowlands Customization ideas

While we’re getting a deal of customization for our characters coming Shadowlands, I’d like to talk about possible class customization that could give the identities of our races more depth. Glyphs are a great idea to be implemented as these are optional and can vary a lot. Some of the glyphs I’d love to see are:

Hunter - Glyph of the Firebomb: Replace your Wildfire bomb with a Fireball. These would work a lot of races that want to look like Spellbows. And it could even come in three different tones: Fireball, Lightball or Voidball, for those that want to look like Dark Rangers and to make possible these Sharpshooters on Argus.

(With this, I’d allow arrows to benefit of the enchantment aura, so every shot arrow would go with it).

Shadow Priest - Glyph of the Void Shield (or whatever name): Give your Power Word: Shield a void color instead of light.

Glyph of the levitation: Change your levitate’s sparkles to dark colors.

Warrior: Glyph of fiery charge: Add fire around your character while charging towards the enemy. As if moving extremely fast.

Not sure if it’s possible to make glyphs that change the entire set of spells of a spec. But ones to turn certain spells into other colors would also be nice These are the ones on top of my head.

I wanna look like a withered blood elf dangit. I’ve wanted that for so long.

You can make a Forsaken without exposed bones and Rp as one. It’d be the closest.

Too human like.

Maybe a nightborne DK. Not sure what they look like.

This is already a glyph btw

I hope they utilize the glyph system to make some cool race/class specific visuals too!

I don’t wanna be all in heavy plate and using melee with undead. I wanna be a warlock that pushed themselves too far so they went into withered mode.

What we really need is unique spells depending on your race. Like priests in classic. Paladins could get different spells as well

I agree, but ultimately it might limit more. I mean, many players could be content with the color of their spells and be way too used to that color.

I feel glyph or options to change it would be better. But I agree that each race should have a different color as long as it goes with them. Though many races share one source, IE: Humans, Draenei, Dwarves, Gnomes, Worgen and likely pretty much anyone except for Night Elves have the Naaru/light faith. I migh tnot be one different for every race.

Cute idea. I still want sets tho, more so with the new raid coming out next expansion.

Imagine the first raid every class has a cool macabre looking outfit. I could imagine all the cool outfits they could make for every class. Maybe people might get that trench coat they were begging for. (Personally I like the big trench coats on Red Dead Redemption 2. Genn has a pretty nice one for an example in game or Nathanos)

Please do this.

Edit: I just came across the type of armors I would imagine they can can do for the first raid. Why I was optimistic about it before. Just the theme with the first raid next expansion.

((Spaces in link or it would not let me post))

It is a nice dress. It gave me the idea of associating certain parts of the armor with slots of your transmogs. So like all the stuff that is on her arms could be associated with the glove slot and bracer slot. So people would be able to not make that part visible.

I mean they did add in making all slots have no visibility for armor. A couple of patches ago. So why not utilize this. Also I think it’s ridiculous that they made all slots able to be invisible expect pants. It made absolutely no sense.

Either way I like this dress, I just wish I could get rid of all the busywork at the top. Like the shoulders and the stuff a long the arms. So it made me think of ways to be able to get rid of it. Which they actually did come out with a solution for this on their own accord. They just have to use it. I’m just not sure if that would entail a lot of work. I figure it was worth mentioning tho.

((Also I have been having to dig up my own stuff on the next expansion. Since Blizzard is being hush hush  ))

We have a fire trail glyph for our charge already

I wanna look like an undead night elf.

But I’ll settle for more hair options and more DK skin tones.

Also new earrings

Leaves/flowers in hair for all my druids, more druid forms because im spoiled by legion, and a glyph of ghost fox for shaman.

They could let each race start with those spells and if another race wants to use them they need to get exalted with that city. If a dwarf wants to use moon spells they need to be exalted with the night elves and buy a glyph or something like that.

I know you are focused on Glyphs TC but on the topic of Shadowlands customization I have a thought on something I would like to see.

I would like to see Draenei get those head runes as a visual option finally. I can’t be the only one who was super disappointed back in TBC when all the Draenei artwork had those cool head runes–

–to find out that they only appear when you cast Gift of the Naaru.

When we got Light Forged Draenei Blizzard gave them an option to have those little head runes at all times as well as multiple choices.

I think it would be great to get those head runes baseline for normal Draenei as well. I don’t even play a Draenei anymore but I think it would be pretty awesome to have them as an option considering how cool they look.

id love some grim-totem customization’s for the tauren

In the words of my friend at Blizzard:

“This announcement has given us the biggest laundry list of customization options we’ve ever seen :joy:

could you mention something about the grim-totem customization to him?

He’s not a character designer or artist, so he doesn’t have any control over what happens there.

Long over due, this should of already been a thing :sob:
