Shadowlands Class Updates

Lightning Shield coming back for every spec is awesome . We needed something to keep melee of us.

Searing totem will take Rogues out of stealth ? What did it do earlier .

? It isn’t thorns lol it’s a maintenance buff that you just reapply when it falls off. There’s very little decision-making involved there and it certainly didn’t/won’t deter other melee specs from smacking you around any more than fire mages’ shield does now.

It’s not an AoE. It’s just another upkeep ability that you have to plop down every few yards you move in combat.

I don’t agree with either ability returning but I don’t really play shaman, so :man_shrugging:. I’m glad you’re content with their direction and I hope other shaman are too.

Now, if they added some synergistic abilities that paired with searing totem to buff it or change the way it worked then it’d feel like a proper turret spec. THAT would be pretty cool.

But I’m pretty sure they’re just rolling with the upkeep functionality.

I am definitely happy to hear about some of the updates for death knights, but would it be possible to add Dark Simulacrum to the list of spells coming back to all classes instead of being a pvp talent? It’s a spell that was never a core part of our rotation, but definitely led to interesting interactions on occasion.

Beggars can’t be choosers.

We have nothing now except astral shift on a 1.5 m CD. Any new defensive is welcome .

I guess we have to beat up Shamans while we can.

Shamans have and will always remain Rogue’s target dummies

I’m excited for SL now… Well, hopeful at the least anyways.

As a frostie, adding fireblast to my burst rotation along with what looks to be the ability to reset via Alter Time has me drooling. Vendors are the icing on the cake. Skellies ftw? lol

Well played Blizz. Better late than never.

lol. Tis funny as rogues immediately came to mind when considering AT. Guess we shall see what we shall see. Finally we get some pvp love for the community. Here’s hoping …

Mages are already slippery and can be tough to catch. Then you do catch them and hit your burst macro and the mage just activates Alter Time.

It’s not as bad in arenas though, assuming you have a dispel on your team.

Don’t take this personal but, that’s music to my ears. Then again as mage it’s hard to feel empathy towards rogues as a whole. lol

It looks like they’re going to something along the lines of wotlk / cata / mop / wod merge. The wod one was the one that pendulum swung heavily on its own.

Mop (if I remember correctly, been a few years) was the one where you casted to get into one, then the opposite.

Hopefully not as terrible as some of them were.

I’m nervous. Seeing how they handle spec overhauls hasn’t been good. And with shaman already getting a big one, as well as other changes, somebody is gonna get lost in it all.

Celestial Alignment / Incarn is no longer a damage buff button (in the current datamining). So hopefully the base damage is improved enough for consistent damage (though I’ll miss hitting a button for 30% increased damage with 3x streaking stars…)

Pretty sure if i remember, Searing totem was the one that sent fire waves out in a 5-10 yd radius. Really good when it comes to protecting a base or keeping enemies from capping flag while your team fends them off

Oh, right. Maybe I was thinking of flametongue? I envisioned the one that intermittently spat fireballs at one target at a time.

For some reason, Blizz decided to make Summon Demon and Revive Pet now 6 second casts. What!?!

Searing totem was the one that does what you imagined, shooting little fireballs. Magma totem was the AoE one that could pull things out of stealth. Flametongue was a weapon enhancement at one time that did extra fire damage on hit. The totem applied the weapon enhancement to other players, like windfury totem did.
