It’s obvious why, if you think about all the things that have happened in 2020. But you’re right, no point arguing with a ‘real raider’; that requires objectivity from the ‘real raider’ and the ability to think about something other than themselves and their own situation.
This may be the first thing in the history of the forums I have actually agreed with you on.
Went the same place as the idea of normal raid being for friends and family.
Very few if any are considering prioritizing the game over family the issue is we will feel guilty if posting out prevents those who don’t have family stuff from raiding.

Ion replies about the raid schedule.
So where are you that you get to have a big family Christmas anyway this year?
I read that as “Castle Narnia” & had to do a double take .
I have sympathy for everyone who is going to feel pressured to make a choice over this. At the same time, I’m sitting here wondering if I’ll even have a max level character by that point. I just play the game at a different speed now… 16 years older…
The world is a different place this year. A little less Christmas party time will be a good thing for almost everyone I imagine.
Y’all pretending you have social lives. How adorable.
Yer gonna ruin my Thanksgiving and Christmas! How am I supposed to walk upstairs and have dinner with my mom and her cats and make it back downstairs in time for the raid?!
Even though I don’t mythic raid I can see the issue. They should have just opened up normal IMO and waited for heroic/mythic after the holidays are over.
It appears that everyone on the forums are sponsored wold firsters.
Hahaha, yeah it seems that way, hell, not even most of the WF raiders are complaining. And some are heavily sponsored. I get the inconvenience but I’m with Ion on it. (He tweeted a response of just having it be unfair to delay content like a raid for others who’ve waited this long for something new, and it would of thrown a lot of the pacing outta whack)
I wish people in General Discussion would understand that “Mythic Raiders” and “world first raiders” are two totally different groups, and the former is about a thousand times larger than the latter.
But expecting people in General Discussion to understand anything is too much to ask for, I guess.
I read the whole thread and wanted to say my bit. I’m typically sad on the holidays, because I’m very bad at social situations, and my family doesn’t tailor fit the gathering to my needs / social awkwardness. It’s understandable.
I’ve held a raider position in several guilds including the time I got cutting edge. I usually stay home and want to raid the week of Christmas, because I don’t go out to family gatherings - especially in 2020.
So I assume my guild will not be raiding and I’ll just pug. It’s sad, but it will be fun.
I’m personally ecstatic! In just 25 days I’ll be playing shadowlands! I don’t have beta. So it will be a fun, new experience for me.
This ROTFL unless they are the next method group winning millions $$$$ for doing so , then they don’t need to
Any rational people on this forum is more worrying about the state of the game, rather than the holiday. The beta keeps breaking and they have roughly 3 weeks to get it in shape?
Yea gonna be another beta for azeroth when it launches.
Right, the sky isnt falling, in Icecrown it’s exploding upwards.
please no, 2 week to level characters, gear them and M dificulty on the 23 its not good for raid progress, pleases reconsider this
