Shadowlands Bugs

Has anyone from Blizzard said anything about bug testing for shadowlands yet? I’m thinking about preordering it but I don’t want to pay for another buggy mess like BFA. Is this a concern of anyone else?

They’re not doing any testing.

That’s what Alpha/Beta phases are for. They haven’t begun yet.

But have they addressed how bad BFA was bug-wise and said anything about how they plan to address that

Shadowlands is mostly on hold due to the outbreak. It’ll likely be pushed back to 2021 so don’t expect news anytime soon.

Due to the fact all Blizzard personnel are on “work from home” status and a lot of game development simply isn’t feasible on home networks, not even considering the equipment needed.

So bearing that in mind, don’t be surprised if it’s pushed back to either very late 2020 or early 2021. Long story short, don’t expect news on it anytime soon.

You do understand Shadowlands hasn’t gotten a specified release date in 2020 because of something like this, right? For example, the Artifact System was a failure, but it was implemented too late and there wasn’t enough time to swap it out for something else. That’s why this time, Shadowlands has a “before or by December 31st” slapped on it. It’s to give the devs time in case a system is dead on arrival or, in this instance, an outbreak happens.

There has been literally nothing pointing towards a delay, especially seeing as how ever single week we keep getting Alpha Builds, and other game devs at Blizzard have said that the various teams have gotten the hang of working from home.

If Shadowlands is delayed in any way, it’ll still likely release in 2020.

We’re in Alpha right now, Alpha testing in any game typically being developer/close family gameplay for feedback, we won’t get into public bug testing till Beta testing.

What? It’s a game. You don’t need a freaking arc reactor or something. And sorry, we’ve been getting news every week.

Funny thing is, earlier today, some dataminers discovered that there was activity on the “BFA Alpha Group” for the first time in years.

Oh? Where from? I’ve been checking and not been seeing it on either the official Blizzard site or any of the news sites.

Have you gone to Wowhead recently? Yesterday we got another Alpha build.

Ah there it is, after having to do a bit of digging there. That being said, hey, if they can get it all done from home and have it be good quality. I’m glad to be proven wrong.

Still a new build doesn’t neccessarily mean they are doing a large amount of work though. It could just be what they can actually get done.

There will be tons of bugs whenever Alpha and Beta is ready, that’s what it’s for.

Not long ago I heard they were hiring a lot of new testers.

I mean, they’ve said that they think BfA was a huge success and love everything they did with it.

So I guess take that however you like.

Alpha has been done publicly for the last few expacs. Likely won’t be any different for this one. We just have to wait. I don’t care for its release, moreso just want a decrypted version so we can start the hype train

I’m abit excited myself, mostly to see what they’ve done with each Covenant armor, though admittedly Ardenweald’s is looking a bit flat; given that plate armor sets are usually the most detailed.

It is all in house, like any of their expansions/games.

The phases the public, or even “friends and family” are in, are not for bug testing.
