Anyone else notice this? I leveled 1 - 70 on this character this week and low and behold there is no longer any skips that I can find to unlocked Torghast, Zereth Mortis etc…
I was able to skip the opening parts in the maw when I was leveling but now it still has me stuck on the story in Bastion with no way to abandon it , if that would even help.
Am I missing something?
If the character is at least 60, then you can see if Fatescribe Roh-Tahl has the dialog option for Threads of Fate on the far eastern platform in Oribos.
Threads of Fate should be available for characters 60 and up, but I’ve seen several cases where it’s not available for some people and I haven’t seen a solution in those cases. (Although if you fall into that category, I’d check again after the patch tomorrow to see if it gets fixed.)
Yep it’s not available, all I get from Fatescribe Roh-Tahl is a “What is the purpose” no options for threads of fate.
LOL if I try to go into the maw, it just sends me downwards and stuns me on the ring of transference and never goes into the maw.
Same thing happening with me as well (my lvl 62 priest). I can’t choose to skip the SL storylines and can’t choose my covenant even though I am above lvl 60… (I have done all of SL storylines on another toon already)

Let’s hope there is some change to this tomorrow after the patch.
I first came into to Shadowlands for the first time at level 69 (and I dinged 70 while hunting battle pets). And while I didn’t find any NPC, I noticed that when I checked the flight paths, I could have gone to anywhere, not just Bastion.
So, perhaps they just did away with the unlock requirements altogether?
The issue is Torghast is not accessible and that leads to Koritha and eventually Zereth Mortis. I dont really care about the story line as I did it once already so that should not be necessary anymore.
They did disable it for leveling, but turned it back on for level 60s. I tested this fairly recently on a 60 and was offered threads of fate when I got to Oribos. So, the fact that some people aren’t getting the option is a bug.
The only other thing to check is if any of the NPCs in the Enclave in Oribos will let you choose a covenant.
Have you tested to see if any 60+ can get the Threads of Fate option? So far, I think 3 of my toons are exactly lvl 60 and they are able to choose Threads of Fate. This priest is not able to though.
I have several characters who are on Threads of fate since I didn’t level them fully when SL is live so those aren’t a problem.
This one however I leveled 1-70 last week hit 70 earlier this week. I had already started leveling in SLands (no threads of fate option) and bailed around lvl 55 to go back to Chromie time in Outlands.
Came back to SLands at 70 and notice I couldn’t pick a covenant. GG RIP
I don’t have any characters that meet that criterea. I only had the one 60 who hadn’t done any Shadowlands stuff already. So that’s certainly a possibility. (And I can’t imagine that’s intended behavior if that is the reason.)
I can check to confirm when the servers come back up, I think at least one of my new Dracthyr haven’t been to SL yet and have leveled past 61. Of course they may have changed things with the patch, but either way worth a test.
I would be surprised if being above 60 was the important disqualifying factor though, I think it is much more likely to be “had started SL content previously”.
I don’t know if the patch fixed anything, so this all may be moot, but I did go and check if Udiza had access to Threads of Fate last night after the servers came back up — she did. (She never completed the campaign — I got her to 60 then went and played Classic.) So, that’s a character at level 60 with partial campaign completion to add as a data point. Now, that partial completion was well before Dragonflight, so that could be a factor.
Confirmed, no changes after the patch. No quests to pick a covenant or anything of the sort at max level. Still bugged.
Needs a bump, still bugged
Bump, a year later, still broken.
