Anyone else still waiting for some of their addons to be updated?
For me it’s Z-Perl
I only have one single addon that I really can’t live without, called “Livestock”. It pulls the right mount for the rights situation, as well as the companion pet you want, all with a single button (mount and dismount, all in one).
Honestly, I find mounting up incredibly frustrating without it. I know it’s a minor thing, but it’s a quality of life improvement.
The only other addon I use is one that lets me know if my alts have specific items and how many of them (for example, I was saving up pet tokens to buy the crystal worm pet from Oribos, and it was giving me the total number I had on all my alts… useful)
Otherwise, well, I’m getting used to the new user interface. I still don’t like how some things are too small, and others too large (“mini” map, anyone?)
Hopefully Livestock will be fixed soon.

Yeah, I’m getting kind of antsy without that! For me it’s taking sandworn relics on all my alts, and some crafting mats.
ive been using LIvestock, what issues are you having with it?
Bagnon with Bagbrother will show you counts, Bagsync too, I know Altoholic does too, but it is having issues and kind of works atm.
2 of my fav Pet Battle addons are borked, PetTracker and Pokemon Trainer, and Im pretty sure only Pettracker has a chance at being updated.
I keep hoping the Dominos creator will change his mind.
I also need AZ Cast Bars, Bazooka and Broker Everything. Oh, and Move Talking Head.
I use bartender now, since it allows me to move the exp bar, menu and bags
I hated Bartender compared to Dominos. Bartender uses too much memory.

If I could move everything I wanted I would just use the new UI. There’s no difference to me

People still use recount? I swapped over to details back in WoD i think
oh yea. about half of my guild does.
I also use RSA. Remember RSA?

livestock is not able to smartmount/dismount with flying mounts if you are already on the ground. it gets annoying to have to fly to dismount.
it’s also not letting the companion button select a pet.
a fix is coming, but I don’t know when.
I use a few add-ons that are long abandoned by their authors. I’ve been keeping them updated, and thankfully the API changes aren’t as bad as I feared.
If you use Recount for anything other than solo content, then you’re using the wrong meter.
I used to use Recount, too. Until I learned the difference in how they actually track damage.
Recount will give artificially inflated results, because it STOPS TRACKING during periods of inactivity. Most obvious is if you die, but more subtle is like on Soulrender fight, or Fatescribe. There are rather long periods where you’re doing a mechanic but not actually fighting anything.
Recount will pause your DPS, which makes it look higher than it is. Details doesn’t do this by default. There’s an OPTION to make it do this… but no one using a meter for good does this.
If you just use meters to insult people and throw a lot of epeen around, Recount is probably a good choice. But if you actually want to see your TRUE DPS and use that data to get better … don’t use Recount. Use Details.
I use BankItems for that - it’s an old addon, but someone always steps up when it breaks and fixes it. It’s not updated on Curseforge yet but someone already linked a fixed version in comments on WowAce, so I’m happy.
but that’s what truly should happen. my damage per second does not happen in those seconds.
Maybe not in the raid examples I gave (although Fatescribe does have adds, so your argument is already falling apart), but there are a seemingly infinite set of situations where YOU stop doing DPS, Recount then stops… but you COULD have been doing damage. Result is an over-estimate on your dps.
Look… it’s easy for me to back away from this and let you hack this out with literally everyone that has already had this discussion and realized that Recount is flawed. This ship has LOONNNNGGGGG since sailed.
I’m merely letting you in on something I learned (as I said, I used to use Recount, too) like 2-3 years ago. Recount is NOT how you want to track your dps.
The biggest reason you can’t talk your way out of this is when you die. Recount stops tracks, Details doesn’t. As any smarty-pants raid leader will tell you: you don’t do DPS when you’re dead.
And as a really good RWF raid leader once said: the best way to improve your overall DPS is simply to BE AVERAGE… and DON’T DIE.
Dying is the WORST thing you can do for your dps and Recount doesn’t care. You incur no penalty. That’s the biggest reason not to use Recount.
If you play solo, or just do LFR, etc… Recount is fine. If you’re any kind of serious player that wants to get better and improve your performance… get Details.
But hey-- don’t take it from me. Ask around. The overall community didn’t just collective agree on one addon without a solid reason.
