go play some other mmorpg if you dont like it… its not even grindy at all,
you just log in do 2 dailies from the maw or 4 depends on the day, you dont have to reach the eye 5/5.
If you want you do callings everyday but I leave it every 3 days.
The weekly quests I dont even bother with it, I just finish it while finishing my other content that I do, so 1k anima I dont really farm it. I just collect it from doing other content dungeons, now raids opening etc, not sure if they drop Anima but am not worried about that, callings can get it done for me easily.
Collecting souls from the maw is not even time consuming you just go do the Maw daily and along the way you finish the quest.
Torghast might be time consuming yea, but if you cant play 30mins-2hrs a day than why you playing MMORPG at all.
now this week raids, and M+ will open, along with PVP S1. weekly chest Vault will be cut in 3, you get to pick which content you want to do, you are not forced to do M+ while pvping, just to get the piece of gear you want. Raids kill 10/10 different bosses, or just 3 if you want 1 piece of gear. same goes to dungeons I think 4 M+. and pvp.
Like always whinners are always the loudest

Most don’t need to be told, they are already going.
It’s not even all that grindy. A couple hours spent per week is nothing especially compared to what it was before.
Did this really need a new thread. Couldn’t you have just added this to one of the other complaining threads? Instead of a new complaining about complaining thread?
Shadowlands isn’t grindy.
I think people have been so conditioned to azerite/artifact and world quest grinds that they’ve been doing them without realizing there’s little need to. Then they complain on the forums about it.
It’s an MMO. Maybe an MMO isn’t the game for them and that’s fine but don’t say it’s a bad game…it’s just not the type of game for those people.
^
Much like the loot going down people are upset but conditioned on what to expect. It will feel good with rare loot. Carrot on a stick, etc.
I don’t think it’s grindy. The first 2 weeks were a bit too gated. With raid, mythic+, world bosses and more campaign, hopefully it feels less closed off.
I talk on trade chat and general, people are annoyed about how they have to grind Anima, am like you dont even need to do the WQ, just do the callings. you dont have to worry about doing every single WQ in the game unless you really enjoy it.
I dont think it’s very grindy either. If i was playing solo, I wouldn’t have much to do tbh. Guild mates are always asking to do things so it does get a little exhausting. Dungeon runs, torghast, and pvp. Theres alot to do. Which is nice.
Only thing I’m frustrated with is theres no catchup for soul ash. Everything else has a catch up. Sometimes you just dont feel like doing a certain piece of content. For me, I skipped weeks of visions because I just hated it so catching up was slow. Torghast isnt particularly fun for me so it’s annoying I cant just say the heck with it for a bit and then catch up in a few hours.
Yes, shadowlands is very grindy, and will see a huge drop in players a month or two from now. The raid content wont be accessible to most of the casuals joining from classic. Or people who came back because of the pandemic.

Not Grindy he say???
I have just gotten the vampire chapter and don’t have a covenant,
Don’t tell its not grindy bub!!!
I’ve quested most the zones and done all the slow walking micro MMORPG stuff that I can take!!!
I don’t mind grinds. But I do mind being fed the same ones and being told they’re new.
Did you even need to do The Maw Dailies? I haven’t been doing them everyday, just as I feel like it. I hear there’s weekly quests too but from what I saw they just reward 183 gear?
Seems they just have Maw/Torghast Upgrades and the Belt Socket stuff that I don’t really care about atm since we’re still at a point where we will replace gear fairly often.
Am I missing anything?

All grinding I’ve done has been by choice in SL. I wanted a tiger form for Night Fae…so I farmed anima for it asap. But I could’ve taken my time, certainly not required.
I like grinds by choice, not BfA style. Works for me. The grind is there if you want it, or not if you don’t.
Its definitely too grindy.
The fact that the story is chopped up into to tiny pieces and locked behind grinds is a new low.
That’s there is already nothing interesting to do (just grinding out various rep layers and steps towards the possibility of a trivial gear upgrade) while waiting for the next story tidbit is baffling.
It really isn’t too grindy. I’ve actually found time to skill up my fishing.
