did you guys mess up shadow bolt? I was having crazy fights of 25 to 33% resist rates last night… fix shadow bolt please
RNG is RNG. Literally had imps in redridge resist frostbolt 4 times in a row on multiple occasions.
but 33% is over double what it should be, sure RNG can inflate to maybe 19 or 20% but to resist 33% when the chance is like 15??? no freaking way lol, and including trash (where you should only be resisted like what, 5%??) overall resist was at 19%, 6% above even boss resist!!! We’re talking Ony and MC clear over 3 hours.
If it was PvP they may of had shadow resist gear.
Report it as a bug if you think there’s a bug, but they didn’t nerf any one spell because they’re not trying to balance Classic. If you’re broken in a good way gratz, if you’re broken in a bad way sucks to suck.
welcome to pve as a warlock. sometimes you get crazy resist strings. it just happens. its the same for crit strings.
The crit strings tend to be a lot worse. RIP warlock
when you crit 4 shadowbolts in a row and rip aggro from whatever you are fighting is what limited invulnerability pots are for lol.
And i had +6% hit when i was fighting those imps. Yet they still resisted 4 times IN A ROW. Sometimes the dice come up short.
I guess you don’t know what RNG really is if you believe it is all purely chance. RNG stands for random number generator witch in reality is only random from the outside. On the inside of the black box it is not uncommon to come across sets of numbers that are identical due to the most traditional RNG using a string of numbers that repeat in the same order every time. An easier war to think of this is that I am thinking of a number between 1-10 and you need guess what that number is, the only catch is that I am choosing the numbers in my head based of a list of number I have written down.
With that in mind i,f a mob resist every time you roll a 2 then it is only logical that you will have times were all you will get coming out of the RNG is part of the string made up of mostly 2. This is why many players will farm an item for months just two have two of the same item drop on the same day.
You also need to make note that RNG has improved vastly over the years as compared to 2005. So even though classic is most likely use the same RNG as BFA client side, odds are that the devs are still using RNG values from 2005 in certain parts of the code. We are talking about a time were the devs implement weapons into the game that can decapitate an enemy without killing them so it is also safe to say that certain percentages might not calculate the way you are hopping.
And lets all not forget that the enemy mobs all have their own resist values so your millage may vary so to speak.
Bro, Kilfran the Crazed parried my wing clip 4 times in a row last night while trying to do my Rhok quest and it got me killed. Sometimes the dice aren’t with you.
What was their level, and your level
If they are higher level they will resist more often.
Nailed it!
Onyxia is also using deep breath more often
She shouldn’t breathe at all. Do more DPS.
She will in phase two, I need her nice morning breath to help craft my sword.
Absolutely false.
Random numbers are generated using 1) a seed and 2) anything that can be read and IS random like the timestamp the user pressed a key, the current session running time, time since last /eat, the current frame time in millieseconds, any other computer variable like CPU temp snapshot, etc.
In creating a random number generator the seed and the randomness provided by the user’s machine are used to generate a “roll”. There are no strings of identical numbers.
This is the reason why I’ve never had the Dreadmist robes drop for me in all my years of farming them. Not once have I ever seen them drop.
In your scenario it is absolute, which isn’t possible using a random snapshot provided by the user and more than likely a seed change upon server reboot, player logging, the temp in Cali, etc.
A cursory Google search will net you more information on programming a number generator.
Got logs of this?
People are literally arguing over the definition of the word random.
