Honestly, Voidweaver is way more fun to play than Archon in M+ on Shadow. I know there is a “bug” with MB/VB doing more damage, but honestly, in M+ it feels really nice. Halo is buggy on its own, and its cool-down timing is unfun.
Don’t fix this “bug”.
It’s already fixed I’m pretty sure right?
It’s crazy to me that sp gets accidentally buffed and it’s immediately corrected, but you have things like ray of frost just melting faces and it’s still going! I swear they’ hate shadow priests at blizzard. It’s really starting to feel personal lol
It’s that one dev that designed void form. They’re still pissy we rejected it so absolutely and have been trying to make us pay since then.
That was celestalon and hes long gone from wow.
Also, because there is a very local group on forums that “hated” the legion/bfa voidform,.doesnt mean it was rejected. I loved it and im 100% sure i wasnt alone. Wow forums dont represent the entire playerbase.

It wasn’t rejected for the loop being bad. It was rejected because we could only execute the loop in raid content and it punished us everywhere else.

That is true for legion. In BFA it was fine.
And they moved away from it because it was hard to balance. Something like psychic link now.
Still would change current shadow for og voidform i a hearthbeat.
In BFA it was still not fine for most of the content in the game.
It realy was. We were on a brink of OP entire expansion, especialy after getting all the bis aparations azerite pieces. With increasing stats it was difficult to balance.
We were broken in s1 pvp due to tankiness. Then we were fine.
We were totaly fine (damage wise) in dungeons. Especialy in later seasons with crit getting to new highs. In corruption season i think we even saw shadow in MDI.
And in raid shadow was straight up OP.
So where we were lacking then? Open world? Idk. In bfa it was fine. Getting nerfed every parch was exhausting but it performed well.

In Legion Voidform was fun when it actually worked.
But the second you had to move, swap target or messed up, you got punished hard and lost everything and had to ramp all over again. It made the spec feel either way too strong or completely useless.
In BFA they reduced the ramp, but Azerite traits made most of our damage happen after Voidform instead. So the whole kit was still built around staying in Voidform as long as possible, but the payoff wasn’t tied to Voidform but to the Azerite traits.
Devour has some similarities, but it’s way cleaner. The ramp actually leads into a real payoff instead of just maintaining a state for as long as possible.

On point, 100% it’s as if no expansion ever existed with void weaving, except for BFA, these people need to look at what happened before to understand where it is now
You’re not. Legion and BFA shadow were hands down the most fun I’ve ever had in this game. I’ve played since BC and I’ve never had that much enjoyment playing a spec
I even pushed high keys in BFA exclusively as shadow. Got my legendary meme beam Azerite essence too lol
Was good times
