Probably whenever they remember glyphs are a thing in this game.
Sadly, this seems like something for TLT at best. There are some rumors that a big selling point for that expansion will be more visual customization. And they better, given the fiasco that Midnight is on that regard.

Likely never, as stated above. On some level, it makes sense - you’re a shadow priest, you’re not really focused on support or assisting anybody. You’re too busy melting minds.
Discipline, however, is mostly focused on support and assisting, and also deals in a good deal of shadow magic. Ergo - they get Void shield, and Shadow does not.
Priest’s a gradient as a class, basically. To visualize:
Full Support → Half Damage → Full Damage
Holy Priest → Discipline Priest → Shadow Priest.
Now, I realize this doesn’t have much to do with the suggestion, but here’s the connection - as neat as I do agree a shadow shield would be, I don’t really see that happening because Shadow’s simply not focused on support, so the devs probably won’t be looking at it in that vein. You’d be more likely to get a new animation for Mind Flay, for example.
