Shadow PVP changes

Thoughts on the below?

Mind Blast and Void Blast were nerfed by 10% last month, and now being buffed by 20% so a 10% gain but neither do damage.

SW: Madness is more decent.

  • Priest

    • Shadow

      • Developers’ notes: Shadow’s consistent damage over time is quite effective, but their single target spells are lower than intended. We’re increasing Shadow Word: Madness and Mind Blast damage to help them contribute single target burst a bit more effectively.

      • Shadow Word: Madness damage increased by 25% in PvP combat.

      • Mind Blast and Void Blast damage increased by 20% in PvP combat.

Welcomed but the proc rate of the two MB talents needs to be substantially increased and we need another cc as well as PW:S being meaningful to press as a defensive similar to mage shields. Also fix the bug that prevents tentacle slam from applying dots because it’s a wasted global and charge.

I honestly don’t think this will change much. I also don’t agree with this “Shadow’s consistent damage over time is quite effective”.

It won’t have any effect at all.

It’s compounding since both will contribute to psychic link damage.

I really wish Blizzard could do simple math and actually play these toons before they roll anything out. This is horrible. The worst expansion for PVP that has ever existed.

Well, if they buff warriors to the moon…i dont think minblast going from 15k crit to 19k crit is going to help us at all.

I feel shadow just doesn’t have a place in this meta where you need nuclear warheads to dent healers, its pad dots do nothing, its burst is nothing special, and generally speaking its damage - even if it looks good on the meters - isn’t effective damage that can alter the outcome of a match. Then melee get buffed to be able to pressure healers, shadow priests get pushed down with them and nothing is achieved.

At least that’s my impression when playing or facing other shadow priests.

Yeah you’re spot on and my damage just pads and im reliant for my partner to secure the kill or wait until 25% dampening which is the magic number when rot starts kicking in.

This season is a struggle as unless you play 3s and all play perfect defensively to last until dampening you generally lose. Rot damage isn’t threatening and most healers get AoE healing baked into everything now.

I’ve maxed at 2.5k SS this ssn but dampening kicks in faster and SS is irrelevant but rated 3s seems like a lot of pain for little gain.
