Clunkyness of going in and out of voidform now is pretty rough.
Still not having SW:D back as baked in is a mindblowingly bad decision and everyone knows it except the devs.
The “buff” the voidform we are now getting in 8.1 is good but you nerfed us overall by 5% so basically meaning we only gain 5% increased damage and ONLY in VF.
I think the damage gap between SF and VF will lead to the spec being 2x more clunky being that we are now 2x more reliant on VF.

We’ll be spending less time outside of VF due to these changes. VB insanity buff shifts more of our insanity generation into a spell that is castable while moving. Hallucinations baseline prevents needing to PW:S from hurting our dps as badly. LoTV is again a viable option, and prevents dropping VF early from hurting dps as badly. LI/VoiT are both viable talent options.
I understand wishing the changes went further (SW:D removed as talent pls), but acting like 8.1 shadow is going to be worse than 8.0 shadow is madness.
I feel like the players that still complain about shadow, shouldn’t be playing shadow.
100% agreed. These children do nothing but complain, imagine if they could play other classes that might make them happy. I’m stoked for shadow, and elemental Shaman.
If the changes result in getting into an ilvl appropriate mythic I’ll be very happy. I spent an hour last night trying to get a 9 or 10 at ilvl 373. Settled for an 8 in shrine with a bunch of <365 players who didn’t understand why the droplets kept killing them.
This is why the children complain. And they are right to. I dont think 8.1 will help much, but i can hope.
As long as shadow gets picked for being shadow and not because they are 30 ilvls above the rest of the group is all we ask
i find it fascinating that you call people “children” because they do not accept everything while at the same time acting like a child yourself. Not everyone has to agree with you to be an adult. Something you learn… as an adult.

Don’t get me wrong, I get declined to 14+ as a 383 shadow with a 1500 io. There’s certainly a shadow stigma, but the stigma isn’t why you are being declined.

Quite right about that I’m afraid. Working on it. Tough though, when the only reason to is bring one is when they outgear the content. Its probably the main source of my surliness. FWIW that crapptastic score has me at the 5th SP on my realm. But i can get on my 362 lock and get in anytime to a +8. And could easily work on him a bit and do all the high keys. But this has been my main since BC shadow. I want to do high keys on my main. Sue me.
Not trying to call you out here, just saying that you’re going to have a tough time getting into any 10 group as any class with a 600 io. Shadow isn’t the issue in this case, and as such, buffs to shadow aren’t going to help. To your original point I was responding to, people are neither reasonable nor right to complain about this.
In the face of a major patch that looks like a wash for damage buffs, complaints about what little utility we do bring seems entirely justified.
I was never a fan of the void form, and while leveling up and doing WQs, I usually don’t use void form (either no need or it’s not available before the mob dies). Will this change make Shadow even less fun to play than other class while leveling up?
I too would be interested in finding out what the answer to this is.
You’re clearly unable to read well. I called you guys children because you act like it. Only children whine this much about things they can control. It’s literally not about agreeing with me. It’s about you guys complaining about a class and instead of playing something else you keep playing it despite your obvious hatred for it. That makes you a baby.

I can read just fine, adults complain, whining would insinuate that people are not making any points. What you are doing is actually whining. You aren’t creating a counter argument but instead whining about people having the nerve to have a complaint about shadow. He explained why he thinks its still bad but instead of creating an argument, you started crying because he has a complaint about the spec.
Then you can’t read just fine. You act like you’re forced to play one spec or class, you aren’t. Quit your whining and move on. Why continue to play something that makes you miserable, and you’re paying for it too haha, foolish.
I have been Shadow from the morning of this world, and I shall be Shadow until the last star falls from the night.
We are not forced to play this class, we choose to play it. Shadow is the only spec I care about in WoW. If Shadow fails to meet expectations, WoW fails to meet expectations.
Customers should expect a product to improve over time, at the very least it should not get worse: and the product of Shadow has gotten worse. This is a completely justifiable expectation of any product: WoW-Shadow included.
Good customers tell you when and why you are failing to meet their needs, they don’t just leave.
I’m not paying for it. I cancelled my sub when it was clear the 8.1 changes were not going to fix the product: over a month ago now.
If you bought an iPhone and it stopped working, would you take it back to the shop and ask them to repair it, or would you buy a Huawei and move on? Maybe you would take your own advice and just silently switch products, but that’s not a mature approach - products should have warranties, Apple is receptive to product defects and feedback, Apple doesn’t want to lose customers they could easily satisfy and retain if they knew about the problem.
The same is true for Blizzard. I’ve been a loud and proud Blizzard fan for 20+ years now since StarCraft 1. I will continue to be a fan for decades to come for their other product lines: but not WoW.
WoW lost me because of BFA Shadow design, and their slow response between Alpha and yesterday, and their lack of appropriate scale of response. Way too little, way too late. WoW-BFA-Shadow is akin to if iPhones were exploding in people’s pockets.
I’m going to tell them why I’m mad. I’m going to demand they be better. I want to buy their product, but I won’t until they fix the problem.

No one said we are forced to play one spec and nor do we say just because we are painfully aware of thwe problems with the spec we should just shut up and reroll. The whole premise of your argument tells even top theorycrafters who point out these exact same problems(easily re-searchable) to reroll. You really need to go back to school if you consider what i have said as “whining”. However, everything you have done up to this point has been whining and throwing a temper tantrum because not everyone else thinks the spec is perfect like you who doesn’t even have the decency to post on your shadow priest.
P.S.: Ive tried every single ranged and dont play melee and while i like shadow the most among them, its still the worst shadow gameplay i have ever experienced and still riddled with issues and before you say “well maybe you should quit then”, i did over 2 months ago.
