I am presently soloing Cata dungeons as a Dwarven Holy Priest and have died three times in two different dungeons to different low level mobs for no reason I can see. I looked at the Combat Log and it says 'your shadow prison dealt you {seven thousand and something damage}. Right before it always says ‘overheal’ in brackets after I use Holy Nova. I googled these terms and got nothing for shadow prison and nothing useful for overheal.
Does anyone know what this means and what I am doing wrong?
P.S. I tried to switch to the correct character but the site won’t let me.
Overhealing just refers to when you do just that, over heal. If someone needs 10k to be topped off and you hit them with an 11k heal, that’s 1k overhealing.
edit: Shadow Prison
Instant
Binds an enemy. Movement by a bound enemy inflicts 350 initial Shadow damage, increasing by 500 for each second of movement. Remaining motionless for 10 sec will reset the stack.

It would appear a Twilight Obsidian Borer from Blackrock Caverns casted this debuff on you.
And you never stopped moving while you had it on, to the point it killed you.

For Shadow Prison, I’m assuming you’re in Blackrock Caverns, the Obsidian Borer’s cast it on you. If you get the debuff and you move around you’re going to die. Stay perfectly still until it goes away.

Thank you so much.
Yes, one of the dungeons is Blackrock Caverns (the other is Grim Batol). Looked up the mob and yes, his first location is where it began today in that dungeon.
This is such a relief. I thought I was being penalized for using Holy Nova too much
