So we all know shadow priests are the kings on 1v1 (only), what i want is some advise that others may have for countering their playstyle.
The only ideas i have are to try and kite them and let them dot themselves out of mana. However to accomplish this your class would have to be pretty tanky and or have healing capability.
Ideas?
You can stomp Shadow Priests as a Discipline Priest or Holy Priest.
Well, it’s kinda a slow stomping, but it’s still very funny.

As a Affliction Warlock and Shadow Priest, rogues were free HKs. They were annoying to my shaman

Better hope you have literally every single cool down up. And even still the priest has the edge if they can have their trinket up

Even without a trinket, rogues were a non-issue unless they outleveled me by a large number.
Now, enter TBC and Cloak of Shadows rendered me useless against them.

Discipline priest beats Shadow Priest 1v1.
Only need trinket to be up. No class can withstand a 1m beating from a rogue except maybe a resto druid in bear form.

Yeah, hunters were most scary on my vanilla priest. I was still able to deal with some by just constantly running into/behind them, ect. Deadzone is hard to abuse without a root
Oh yeah, hunters are gonna have mana again, I’d mana burn while they were screamed too.

It has been my experience that as a shadow priest it’s almost always best to just go full force and try to nuke the hunter. That’s one of the main reasons I’m rolling a dwarf so I can stoneform and just nuke them before I oom myself

SP has god tier damage. But he also have to drink after every single fight from videos i’ve watched from vanilla. Literally few casts and he’s empty. Engage him then
Yeah, being fair I was younger then and didn’t really try to be optimal. xD
I got to rank 12 in vanilla before they ended the honor grind and 2100 arena rating in bc. You over estimate yourself.
Hunters with daze, intimidation and use of fd+traps can keep them away.
shadow priests cant beat hunters if they can’t get within 36 yards of them

As a holy/prot paladin, I’d take that bet.
Hunter do not counter spriest.
You can viper sting but they will still kill you before they go oom.
