There are many items that you can obtain during your adventures in Azeroth that can be used for Leveling, Dungeons, Heroics and some are even Pre-BiS for Raiding when you enter Outlands. If you get these pieces, keep hold of them and you can find yourself saving some time, sanity and even some Gold.
TDLR: Naxx gear and a few other items are pre-raid bis/handy throughout the game.
It’s not really a secret mate but will educate some people.
All of that gear will be obsolete by lvl 65 with greens so no point. All except Nelth tear, the only item, which stays BIS through like half of TBC or something.

That is where you are wrong. Nelth’s tear even for part of TBC has an extremely high hit budget for no reason. It gets replaced with Skull of Guldan
