I am really enjoying my Spriest and just got 50. My question is, how are they in solo content? I want to main this but I’m wondering in Shadowlands that solo instance if they are any good, or solo world content like WQuests, rep farming etc…
They are not very good at AOE if you dont take the right talents. They are very good at self healing. Not as tanky as warlock but they are very tanky so it is easy to kill almst any elite.
In pvp solo they are a blast but again not as good as warock IMHO
How do you go about self healing for Spriest? Shadow Mend doesn’t tend to do it much for me. And if I’m not mistaken, Vampric Embrace heals team mates not you right?
It heals either depending on whose health is lowest, so if you’re solo you get all the healing. It’s pretty nuts, esp. with San’layn you heal for more damage you do (extra so for vampiric touch and devouring plague).
In general multi-dotting vampiric touch will add up to a surprising amount of passive sustain, with devouring as a mini-burst of healing too. You can add shields or shadow mend on top of that with vampiric embrace and desperate prayer as extra emergency healing.
How do you like the solo aspect of Spriest with what I said in the original post?
Also thank you for the self healing lesson <3
So far on my priest (can’t swap characters on mobile apparently) solo’ing is a breeze. The free passive healing combined with strong multi dotting and cleave damage makes pulling a good few (like upward of 5 or 6) normal mobs pretty easy and safe. For most elites vampiric is enough to just burn them down without too much problems. Only the big hairy ones that you’re intended to need groups for (think some of the N’Zoth invasion bosses) are too much to handle.
The Mogul elites in the Nzoth invasion are really the only ones that hirt. Those annoying blood debuffs alaways one shot me and thatvis due to how close each enounter is.
When i got invited to the beta i leveled as shadow. I found the sustain good with pws SM, DP and VE. The ability to dot up misery several adds and mind sear down made levelling easy. Warmode was fun because damnation allowed you to throw 3 dots out straight away
You can dispel them using cure disease, which gives you your health back.
Vampiric Touch and DP heal for 50% of the damage they deal.
Also shadowmend heals a hefty chunk, i don’t know what you mean. Vampiric Embrace will heal you if you are the only one taking damage nearby.
I’ve been digging the Shadow Priest solo. SW:P and Mind Sear are great for tagging. Vampiric Touch and Devouring Plague are great for keeping your health up while fighting elites or groups of enemies. For emergencies you have Dispersion (not as strong as Ice Block by any means but can still save you.) My biggest issues with the Shadow Priest solo is that their mobility isn’t great (my previous main was the Monk so my view of “good mobility” is probably biased.) Having Levitate and Body & Soul help with this issue. Where I had “Roll” on my bar for my Monk, I have a self-cast Power Word: Shield to get regular bursts of speed.
