Happy to see shadow crash being 20 seconds now.
The DP buff, talent changes and tier set seems we’re heading towards an inescapable torment insidious ire era with DA, would be interesting if they tested adding SW:D into insidious ire and see if it would be too strong.
Unsure if that build would work lol but hmm, happy to see they’re testing stuff and doing changes.
This is not the only alternative hello? They could just extend the duration of shadow or add charges or haste it. This is the literally the main base to make this spec work, everything else is whatever if they dont make the dot management something smooth.
Honestly deathspeaker psychic link is some satisfying stuff.
I still just worry about how low shadow’s insanity gen is and how bad our mobility is.
Why don’t they also allow Divine Star to extend DoTs on hit? I actually don’t mind using this spell. This hitbox is a lot bigger than it appears (that could just be my perception of it though).
There’s potential for it to hit twice as well.

You are aware that ghosts doesnt crit?
I really don’t know what to say to this. Just play a different class if you don’t like the identity of the spec.
I wouldn’t go play a Demo Warlock and demand that I not have to have imps out, just the same as others shouldn’t play druid or shadow priest if you don’t want to use their forms.

It was a dark and scary last few days, but these changes bring me hope!! There’s light at the end of the void guys:heart:
This is exactly my concern as well.
shadow is the least mobile caster in the game. We need something to compensate for that. Wether its our instant cast procs or new mobility spells(seeing as we want to get away from button bloat leaning more forward procs)
No mobility in PvE in one thing, but take that into the PvP world…. Just won’t work… we get trained and die. unless you reverse the nerfs to shadows self sustain. Even then it’s juke city for those precog procs so we can play the game. And before you say locks have to do the same thing, they actually have a good mobility kit at their disposal. I love the class so so much, but RP walking everywhere hurts lol.
the insanity generation nerfs just feel bad. It makes playing shadow feel less rewarding and honestly just flat out boring.
We need some milk blizz!

These changes actually look pretty good. I can’t STAND mind sear. It’s awful to put in your rotation and it isn’t fun – also it’s useless in PvP. I’m so glad they’re removing it
This mindset I don’t understand… don’t like it; don’t use it. There are multiple viable builds for PvE.

This was my post from yesterday. Just wanted to say with the most recent changes insanity regen feels pretty nice especially with the rework of SWD. mobility is still a slight issue. make msi or mfi castable while moving/ insta cast and we looking really goodm

This is exactly why it is good as a talent; it should be optional, but some folks desire this type of control over the way they are impacting the game environment (how they are delivering damage). I want an option that is active and has few RNG elements.
While I’m glad they are looking at the shadow mobility, SW:Death is an archaic model of spell that causes way more damage then good.
Let me backtrack. Farmed content, or content that is not challenging at all is not bad, you dont really have to worry about killing yourself. But when you are doing high keys like 20s-21s and you are doing bosses that do anywhere close to 40-50% of your life with an unavoidable single tick of damage (Lookin at your hyrja storm tyrannical, fenryr claw swipe + dot, or Nokud Lightning boss aoe) you are going to die with your basic rotation.
We already are throwing desperate prayer, VE, shield, and sometimes flash heal spam to keep ourselves alive. If you throw in shadow word death to our rotation, AND increase its damage done (and vice versa its friendly fire damage taken) its going to cause a lot of wipes. Especially taking the survivability nerfs that have been discussed as well.
Please just get rid of the self damage aspect of shadow word death. There are 0 classes in the game that I’m aware of that have a self damage spell. And even if there were they arent fun. It is not fun to have to NOT cast something because I’m going to kill myself. Throw it into a major part of your rotation by adding insanity generation and you are making that mandatory choice (oxymoron much) feel worse.

Yeah after 6-7 years off I came back to spriest and feel it’s lost it’s identity

You could mindsear to get stealthies out of stealth in the past

Quick question just as it’s possible I’ve missed something! Were there changes in any notes regarding mobility or is this in reference to procs? Apologies if it seems like a silly question.

After 6-7 years off, I’m sure it does feel like it plays different. But the identity as a SHADOW priest is still there.
We’re about to have to learn a new way to play again in 10.1. Doesn’t mean it’s not a Shadow Priest where you need to be in Shadowform to play it.
honestly the idea of concentrating shadow/mental/madness attacks on one main target and having it spread out into the nearby like a sick aura of insanity sounds like a very void and shadow priest thing to do XD

in reference to the procs and lack of insanity generation. We no longer will have the insanity buildup to reliably save a DP on the run, nor will we have the instant cast mind spikes leaving us with our only reliable way to deal damage on the move being spamming sw pain for minimal dmg and a (now) 10 second sw death cast.

- [Priest Shadow 10.1 Class Set 4pc (New)] - Every 400 Insanity spent summons Shadowfiend/Mindbender for 5 seconds
LMFAO. Is this the worst 4pc in the whole expansion? Literally 8 DPs, which are much harder to accumulate now, to get a FIVE SECOND Shadowfiend vs. having a flat 4% haste increase per DP beforehand which they removed because they aren’t bright enough to just replace Mind Sear with Mind Flay. More nerfs. You’re a joke, Blizzard balancing team.
It just gets worse and worse boys…
