Wondering if I should take the leap and go Frost Mage, leveling isn’t difficult in the slightest so no worries there. I just worry if Shadow Priests will be decent or if I should go Mage since a number of Void elf NPCs I’ve seen in BFA are mages.
Why not both?
Try both and play the one that is the most fun for you.
I’d go with Shadow priest for the Hype that they are doing real well during the pre patch. I would then prepare myself for that eventual drop kick once Shadowlands launches and the Devs see some numbers.
Been trying to finish leveling my shadow priest since it and my new and only warrior hadn’t made it to 120 yet. I’ll say that it seems a lot weaker now but that could just be me not knowing what I’m doing yet
Shadow priest is looking noice in SL.
But so is mage.
Just don’t go by any numbers you see now cause frost mages are just spamming lance and topping charts at the moment.
This, just prepare yourself the numbers during the pre patch should not be what you base your class change on. Play what’s fun and wait for numbers once SL comes out.
Play the priest. Mage is fun, but priest is top tier as of now.
Both are doing very well in SL atm.
Frost will get nerfed for sure, both are super fun, I took my Spriest through Torghast and did very well, had a blast.
Both specs look great for SL and even tho they both might see some nerfs I don’t think that will drop them very far. personally I find Frost to be more fun so I would chose that.
That’s a great argument for going mage, and no argument at all for going priest.
Many people are meta chasers.
Just kind of wish I could enter Voidform more often (or they at least change Shadowform to be less… smoky)

Do you like healing? Because when Shadow gets nerfed, you either stick with it or heal. Mages always have some good DPS spec.
I can’t imagine what hell you must live in where numbers rank higher than fun, but if that were me I would let other people have fun and keep my empty soulless kusk of an existence to myself.
Not I. I plan to play a hunter. Really enjoying it.
Honestly I’m quite fearful of it. Plus it doesn’t feel right healing with a Void elf/
I have both end level. Sticking with my frost mage as my main. I find it more fun but that’s totally up to you
I think that if you’re having fun with Shadow, you should do it! It’s not the end of the world to play a non-meta spec, especially if you aren’t pushing for world firsts. Plus, a great player of any spec will usually do more damage than a bad player with a meta spec (minus 8.3 Havoc and BM Hunter).
