Shadow priest mindflay has a couple of bugs.
- sometimes it skips ticks and ends early. This causes only one or two ticks.
- sometimes it shows it misses during the middle of a channel and ends channeling early. This seems most common on the second tick of channeling, like it’s rolling hit chance on each tick of the channel.
During both of these events, I have had powerword shield up. This immunity to pushback while shielded could also be something to look into. It could be that it is not preventing pushback. I have had this happen in almost every fight where I cast mindflay more than once. It also only seems to happen when I am being attacked (mainly melee range).
edit: this is in Wrath classic.
edit 2: I just had a melee swing during the middle of a mindflay channel, also while shielded. This literally showed my character swinging my staff and hitting a bear while the channeling bar for mindflay was still going. Something is very wrong with mindflay.
edit 3: I believe the main issue is my character is still trying to melee swing while channeling mindflay. My melee swing is interrupting mindflay channeling most of the time I enter melee range. This also accounts for the missed hit during mindflay channeling.
