Impossible. Even if you reliably get to the last phase with full cd’s and embrace up, you can’t survive Raest going berserk. Spam uninterruptable 1,700 shadowbolts.
Even if you sustain Raest as hard as possible up until that point, he simply has too much hp by then.
The only reliable Shadow Priest video out right now and the same one Wowhead has on display for a guide is a PTR kill, where berserk isn’t working properly after Karam is finally killed.
Any Shadow Priests out there with any luck so far?
A saw an Afflock say that one method is to CC Karam instead and then kill Raest first, so that he never enrages. But priests don’t really have reliable CC in any specs, which makes it rough.
Yeah it’s not possible. I’ve tried every trick in the book. If we could use the Heart of the Void legendary then it might be possible but, we can’t. Without borrowed power, Spriest just doesn’t stand a chance.
The information available is contradictory to the kill on ptr. I know Mage Tower in general is extremely hard for most classes and specs at the moment, but this one really does come off as impossible.
Haven’t come across one Shadow Priest, streamer or otherwise that has been able to do it.
I haven’t seen a single priest with the set yet. Someone claimed they had the holy one but, oh, they wouldn’t put it on LOL. Disc priest seems SUPER impossible, I’ve tried it 15+ times. Hpriest is just… not good enough imo.
That was probably me. I do have to agree SPriest probably doesn’t have the CC to pull that off. I did kill it by outhealing the enrage damage, but it’s pretty dam severe.
You don’t need to kill any of the crawling adds, you can have a small army chasing you in the final phase if you just ignor them throughout the fight. IDK if SPriest has any way to take advantage of that, but may be worth looking into. I was able to use them to full heal with Phantom Singularity and proc my fried bonefish food buff to heal keep ahead of them.
Oh wow, it just occurred to me you guys don’t have any way to easily deal with the runes either, yeah gl with that fight. Wish I could offer a more optimistic view.
priest i feel isnt HARD but with pvp gear i dont have enough damage. Pve gear its completely doable but vers SUCKS so much. I can make it to ending phase but never finish him past 20% And the old method of killing mr walker gets u killed
Blizzard retuned the fight from the PTR. Aff Lock could do it pretty easily. Now, it’s really, really tough. I couldn’t do it and I knew what I was doing.
I think most pvpers are struggling. I saw a glad hunter complaining but they literally had the best gear in the game. Vers is just awful for this I guess.
I tried to do it on Afflock after beating my head against Destro but I can’t seem to dish out enough damage to Raest to justify going for him first. And when I kill Karam the enrage is insane in terms of the punishment, I’m dead in seconds.
So basically, get as many sockets as you can is the strat. Not just for Spriest btw. Everyone I’ve seen who’s done it has done the same thing. Seems like bad tuning if that’s the strat.
i might have to get the craftede gear and sockets. cause pvp gear is SO bad with this. Alot of people having issues with the number issues. Not so much mechanics
Not my kill, still waiting to do it on EU, but this is done on live without any timewalking gear.
Bliz increased the enrage on Raest from 100% to 500% if Karam ever dies in the final phase, which means unless you want to dance outside of Raest’s cast range for 10 minutes whittling him down and soaking runes, you’ve got to burn him with Karam still alive.
This has since been rectified and the guide fully updated to reflect how the fight works right now.
