Shadow Priest. Just not enough

10% buff to 3-4 spells is just not enough.

Shadow needs a big buff to Mind Blast, an even bigger buff to dots (we’re talking ~50-100% to dots, because they’re doing nothing right now).

But most importantly, Shadow needs an immediate buff to its AoE capabilities. Making players wait until the next competitive season to roll out changes so desperately needed is just not good enough.

Here’s a simple example on how to fix Shadow’s AoE; Shadow Crash CD is reduced by 5 seconds for every target hit. That way it will be able to effectively AoE every pack, like almost every other DPS. Right now, solely relying on Shadow Crash for any sort of AoE, with a 20 second cooldown, is severely hurting the spec’s overall damage at the end of M+ and Cleave intensive raid encounters.

These micro buffs you’re rolling out to Shadow Priest are just useless. Rdruid is another perfect example. These specs need proper attention. Stop making players wait months for their classes/specs to be competitive.

if they give us more max charges to Mind Blast and make it cool down faster oh the things I could do with that…it’d be amazing for voidweaver Shadow Priests. Sadly I’m not sure Blizz is going to let us have fun…let alone THAT much fun or more

It just needs more than what they give it every week. A lot more.

Blizzard actively refuses and admited to not give priests any mobility, CC, or instant cast damage, due to shadow priest apparently being “too op” otherwise. Yet they have mediocre damage and nothing but hard casts, and dots that do literally no damage, while other classes get way more utility, mobility, cc and more damage to boost. And blizzard says that it’s fine that shadow priests don’t have what every other class has, because of PI.

Shadow priest class design is one of the most dated in the game. They need a rework, no tuning will fix the glaring issues shadow has.

Shadow has been hovering in and above the middle DPS rankings. It’s doing fine.

This is why Blizzard asks for players to tell them what’s wrong, but not to suggest solutions

This is self-evidently broken

i love casting my shadow crash and watching the tank + adds disappearing into the distance…

Honestly, many classes have this issue.

There’s a conflict in their development.

-They want classes to stay similar to classic because that’s how they have always played
-They want raids to be more complicated than before because people are used to them.

It’s absolutely no coincidence that some of the best performing classes are the newer ones or heavily reworked ones. They basically had a lot of baggage removed and given things that made them more useful across different situations.

At this point, every class should have the following:

-A ST ability
-A ST ability you can do on the move
-An AoE absility
-An Interrupt
-A CC
-A Heal

Classes can have stronger or weaker versions of each, but EVERY class should have SOMETHING they can press when moving, or when having an AOE pack, regardless of CD. If you think that’s OP, realize many classes ALREADY have all this!!! They must begin acknowledging that certain things MUST be baseline across all specs.

On heroic it’s mid pack because fight times are getting so fast every boss is effectively single target and any add spawns are just extra twist of fate procs because they all die so fast.

On mythic average it’s the worst DPS class in the game and plummets on performance statistics the moment the fight has more than one target, has to be ferried around by evokers due its abysmal mobility options on Rasha’nan, and what unique utility it does have has been nuked to irrelevance.

Okay well maybe actually contribute to the conversation then rather than shutting others down without an explanation lol?

Please explain what sort of temporary fix Blizzard can apply to Shadow Crash right now, while waiting for the supposed rework at 11.0.5, or season 2, other than a CD reduction mechanic, or adding an extra stack or two to the spell.

Personally it’s that people are tired of bandaid fixes and are rightfully scared that yet another short term fix would give developers an excuse to kick the can further down the road as they have been doing for half a decade.

People are at a point where they’d rather see the spec devolve into a terrible, utterly unplayable, steaming festering heap of junk, because at the end of that blizzard are more likely to rebuild from the ground up instead of slapping another bandaid on.

I think I’ll have to wait for MoP Classic before I can truly enjoy my shadow priest again.

I still miss mind sear. I also liked that talent that served as an AoE insanity spender during SL (and I think I’m the only one who did). I can’t remember what it was called though. :sob:

I honestly preferred the SL AoE playstyle to the current pile of crap.

Shadow Priests aren’t evil enough.

Just give Shadow back Mind Sear and call it a day. Psychic Link is neat but it will never be balanced properly because it requires their single target damage profile to be excessively strong to make the AoE profile competitive.

Psychic Link should almost act like Havoc at this point. At least that’s what I feel.
