Shadow Priest: Is Undead really the king?

Let me start by saying that I know most people say Undead is the way to go due to WoTF. I understand the massive utility. I also know that the Priest racials for both races are fairly comparable. My question is, for PvP is Undead really so much better that to roll a Troll would be silly and handicap you? I know there is a debate as to how beneficial racials are, with some people min/maxing and some saying play what you like. I also know, however, there are a few exceptions such as Dwarf Priest for Fear Ward. Is this one of those exceptions, or is this a on-paper min/max situation? Can a Troll Shadow Priest preform in PvP? Is it going to raise the skillcap by an insane margin? What are the real-world (well…game world) implications of picking one over another. Thank you for the insight!

Trolls get shadow orbs that do damage on emey hits which can trigger blackout talent. They are they better shadowpriest.

Hex of weakness is mad underrated and shadowguard makes you marginally better against melee. Both you can use at r1 for crazy benefit with next to zero cost. There are fewer warlocks on the alliance on PVP servers due to WOTF, so the fearbreak isn’t the end-all be-all. Paladins can dispel your devouring plague alongside ally priests, both of whom are fairly common to bump into.

I honestly don’t think that one is strictly better than the other - they just excel in different areas. Berserking is also pretty overlooked - it can turn a fight around, especially given how durable a shadow priest is to begin with.

WOTF is a big deal, but it is DP that can make it a powerhouse in PvP, it does a ton of damage and healing, Shadow Gaurd for troll is really nice as well though. Touch of weakness does deal 8 shadow damage so can trigger black out, but it is useful rarely at best.
