Shadow Priest from the start?

Hello all,

As the title states, will we see shadow priests from the start with the assumed 16 slot defuff?

If so, will this lead to more warlocks and fewer melee?

Cheers

Since it’s going to be 1.12 there will be no shortage of warriors. It is possibly the most unbalanced patch for warriors that ever existed. And their is never a shortage of rogues.

It Wont. Warrior and rogue are still going to be overplayed. But, don’t over estimate how many warriors will actually make it to 60. I would wager more than 50% of all warrior rolled wont make it past level 40. It will only mean that raid leaders take a shadow priest to MC and BWL.

I don’t think we can expect a jump in the number of priests making it to 60. The problem with playing a shadow priest is it can feel like you are playing half a class. Sure a great priest will make use of all of their abilities and manage shadow form usage. Most players are not great though and it will be a very dull leveling process for them.

DPS from an ungeared SPriest isn’t too great. 1 year in when people are geared and some raids are on farm - anything could happen though.

As a priest, you level shadow. There should be no issues healing dungeons until strath/scholo/ubrs while speccing full shadow.

It’s incredibly easy to level a shadow priest, about on par with mage. The only upside is mage gets food/water/portals which makes it a bit easier. Per mob death time is about the same.

Bottom line, if you want to level a shadow priest, level one. It’s not hard and one of the easier classes to level. Spriest is also a very strong PvP contender.

Maybe to some slight non-zero degree. But, I don’t think it will. I don’t remember people rerolling enmasse when 1.12 came out. I think most people will just play the class they like the most.
