Just curious on how other Shadow Priests are doing for dps on there dungeons and raids? Our guild has been running LBRS, BRD, Strat, Scholo, Mara, and a few others. I have most of the decent gear from these dungeons and my SP DPS is on average 255-295. I am following a decent spell rotation and use either a potion of Intellect, Spell Damage, or Shadow Damage. Just would like to see how that compares with other SP playing classic WOW again.
Thanks

You’re basically there to buff warlock dmg. And look cute in your little shadow form.

It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it.

Fully tryhard shadow priest parses a little under 600 in raid.
AFAIK they are just under warlocks on warcraft logs, so all things considered that’s pretty good.
we don’t run a shadowform priest, i spec 31/0/20 and top trash/domo meters every week like a boss. we are thinking about testing out the power weaving vs shadowform value, but its tough when we cant find a true min max shadowform god (recruiting on stalaag alliance is hard atm)
as far as long term viability, shadowform dps falls off a cliff when your guild is having trouble killing bosses. higher raid dps = higher shadowform dps, you essentially piggyback on everyone else’s parses. not only this, but eventually mages and warlocks catch up to you in terms of hit%, further pushing you down the meters. at around this same point in raid progression, boss fights become much longer than shadowform can maintain good dps for. i figure a true min max god priest can pump to their fullest potential for 90 sec to 2 minute. after that you have to downrank flay or (gasp) use your wand, your dps can’t keep up at that point
Shadow is decent dps if you’re allowed full dps, but you’ll never be top. I have been very fortunate and my guild is allowing me three debuff slots so I get to mind flay spam. Now I just have to get gear and consumables and Im considering respeccing again to get the MB CD.
With that said, the stupid nerfs to combat log mean I havent the slightest how my dps actually compares due to range.
Shadow priests do OK in MC but we do have scaling problems as Crit is a useless stat for us. Personally I am normally middle of the pack just behind 1 or 2 warlocks. As long as you are keeping weaving up and help with dispel mechanics you are a wanted spot in a raid.
for raids and pvp , your job is to buff lock dps .
PVP on the other hand… godlike with the correct gear
Considering most players are casual, if you go try hard, you can beat them on DPS. If the fight lasts for longer than 2 minutes youre screwed.
It’s not much, but it’s honest work.
