It is stupid that people can run up, contribute absolutely nothing. Then use macros and 3rd party programs to input 100s of key presses/clicks per second and steal the tag on the “boss” for themselves.

There is nothing wrong with macros. Most are mouse over or you can spam them it’s a few basic lines of text.
Also you are really exaggerating
Just make a macro bind it to a key and spam that key like everyone else does. This isn’t against ToS and is supported by Blizzard.
This happens every time this event happens and nothing will change. Be thankful the event is planned to stay up for all of Phase 7 at minimum.
