i don’t see why this needs to be a new “class”, unlike other NPC spec classifications this one even has “hunter” (an already existing class unlike warden or sentinel) in the name, and as others have pointed out uses a mildly twinked hunter loadout with slightly more shadow oriented abilities. i’m all for a “shadow hunter” spec, but why do we need a new class for it?
Shadowlands would be ideal for a Shadow Hunter class or a Necromancer. At the very least, they could be specs or cosmetic spell changes for existing classes.
So you guys don’t want them to fix current classes, and are asking for a new class that will probably be as bad as current ones? Priority guys…
I’d much rather have fun classes than just a new class, because quite frankly, the only class (or spec rather) I enjoy in BFA is the Fury Warrior.
With the revamping of zones. They said returning some abilities to classes. I honestly do not thank they capable of much more. New class probably take them 3 years to come up with just two choices. Look at Dh. Could even come up with a third one.
Only Trolls should get shadow hunters. Give Blood Elves and Undead Dark Rangers alongside them. With pale red eyed undead options for dark ranger blood elves.
New classes aren’t really diversifying gameplay. Demon Hunters are just cannibalized skills from other classes and then got a double jump. They didn’t add anything to game like DKs and Monks did.
lol @ people saying devs will focus on existing classes if they don’t add other new classes.
They could have fixed the classes we have in bfa if they wanted. So rather than having 0 class design fixes with no new classes, I’d chose having 0 class design fixes with 1 or more new classes every expansion.
Actually they don’t. They are pretty unique, but there’s really no other race that can be one except Trolls.
Shadow hunters (also written as shadowhunters or shadow-hunters) are masters of voodoo and shadow magic and were once the highest authority amongst trolls. Their spirit powers can both heal and curse, walking the line of dark and light in hope of saving the future of trollkind, doing whatever it takes to secure a future for their kin. The loa can channel themselves through the shadow hunters when they use their ceremonial rush’kah masks.
How many classes do you play? I personally play all of them. And the ones that are usually fun are still fun in BfA and the ones i don’t like all that much are still pretty much the same ones. And i still prefer Arms over Fury although for the first ever time i have been enjoying Fury.
Which is exactly why they won’t be added, classes must be available to both alliance and horde or there would be rebellion by the other side. But the way I see it, shadow hunter is literally a MM hunter with shaman’s totems, and some shadowy effects.
The current devs can’t even handle the classes we already have, not sure if adding yet another one is a good idea atm.
Seems to me this would have been the perfect expansion to add Necromancers.
Yes I know that… I already said that.
Except it’s not. Shadow Hunters aren’t hunters. They don’t even use bows.
The shadow hunter in island expeditions uses bow thought? and totems. And he’s called a shadow hunter.
Shadow Hunters in lore do not. They use a spear, use voodoo and spirit magic, cast curses and heal. They were in WC3 Frozen Throne. Many of their abilities are Shaman abilities.
IEs are just a poop storm of bs that doesn’t follow anything and someone just shoved a bunch of crap into with no thought to lore.
I want a new class too.
So…survival hunter+shaman+DK+shaman+warlock?
I have at least one of every class on my account. Fury is one of the only few classes I can enjoy in this expansion as it’s my main. This expansion is so alt unfriendly that I can’t even bring myself to finish leveling all of them, and on top of that the other classes I have to level bore me to tears.
Well technically all previous xpacs are optional starting in SL, but adding a new class would be the first time in wow history that a class basically got barred from an entire expansion.
