IIRC one of the dev interviews mentioned that spell swapping is a thing with Hero Specs.
That said, we have no reason to believe they won’t. We are, all of us, making assumptions about what these words they listed mean and what their example with the balance druid equates too.
As a Draenei, I’m not a big fan of race-specific hero specs, and Shadow Hunter seems very much like a troll hunter/rogue/shaman/warlock hybrid, not a shaman only. We don’t shoot bows, throw spears, or curse people (beyond Hex, and it’s a magic debuff).
Farseer is never bad, Stormbringer sounds great, and Totemic needs some showcasing to convince me of its worth (sounds quite generic).
I don’t disagree, but right now we have several announced hero specs with heavy racial ties. There’s a lot of elf hero specs, and trolls have nothing yet. So I say we either try and push for more races to get representation, or we make all the hero specs racial neutral.
Shaman and hunter I see, but where is the rogue and warlock part coming from? Three out of the four Shadow Hunter spells from WC3 became Shaman spells in WoW. The only thing missing is Big Bad Voodoo. Hunter, only because of the ranged weapon.
There is also a Shaman exclusive toy called Vol’jin’s Serpent Totem you can buy in the Shaman order hall. Only Shaman can use it. Like the class connection is strongest with Shaman.
The only thing I can think of that ties rogues in is the quest where Rokhan asks the spirit to hide us when sneaking around Stormwind. I guess the warlock tie is because Shadow Hunters commune with dark spirits? But talking to spirits is fully in the Shaman domain.
Earthwarder should just be a full on 4th spec. I think it’s a little beyond the scope of hero specs.
