Is shadow crash at all viable with the new tuning that came out today or is it still worthwhile to take Auspicious Spirits from that row?
Auspicious Spirits is still the best talent in pre patch because we still have the azerite trait, Spiteful Apparitions that increase the damage of apparitions by a lot if you have 3 of those traits. Shadow Crash will be a viable talent choice in Shadowlands.
Alright that makes sense. So going forward in SL, Auspicious Spirits and Shadow Crash will be equally viable? I’m just curious if running searing nightmares (hypothetically) would be better to couple it with Auspicious Spirits or Shadow Crash in the upcoming expansion.
Shadow Crash is slightly better than Auspicious Spirits if all your targets get hit by it, Auspicious Spirits is more consistent and better if your targets are spread out but both are equally good, Psychic Link is the weakest talent in the level 40 row and should never be taken. In dungeons, Searing Nightmare is good depending how big you pull, as well as Shadow Crash but right now in pre patch you should stick with Misery and Auspicious Spirits.
In the expansion it’ll be a solid go-to in m+. Makes Searing nightmare more worthwhile of a choice by virtue of it not needing Vampiric Touch to function like the other two talents.
But right now we still have spiteful apparitions, so it’s still not there yet.
Crash now scales with mastery and its cooldown is hasted. This offsets the nerf it got.
