Shadow Bolt

I can no longer play warlock and have not been able to play warlock since blizzard decided to change the warlock animation spells to what they are now. They are terrible in my opinion and feel like I am not playing a warlock anymore, rather some necromancer with odd looking spells. It’s sad because warlock was my favorite class, but I just cannot being myself to play it. What class is like that for you?

The old one pretty goofy and cheap to me.

No it was the best. I loved it.

Huh? You feel like the new Shadow Bolt looks more like a necromancers spell than the old “Skull Bolt” does?

The new spells looks poofy and non shadowy. It doesn’t fly right either. It arches.

Much like the green-fel-fire quest warlocks had from MoP — It’d be cool if warlocks, along with other classes got more questlines to change the aesthetics of their spells.

Yeah sure, the new ones are whatever. But the old Shadow Bolt had you literally fling a cackling skull at your target. How does that not scream necromancer?

I just want to be able to use the old one…is that too much to ask?

A glyph (if it existed) could easily provide the option. Glyphs are so underdeveloped its a shame.

Old shadow bolt >>>>>>>>new by a mile

Now the theme song is stuck in my head. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Personally I dislike the green flakes that come off the Shadowbolt. But I guess it makes sense because it’s a Fel warlock casting it.

I was heart broken when SB changed as well but when i play warlock i pretend like im a good guy using Hells demonic powers for the better. Destro is my favorite caster. I like all the fire spells and being an aminous character and not a yippie fire mage

This is why glyphs should be more of a thing. to bring the old stuff back without really bringing it back

… Well, those are fighting words if I ever heard them. Warlocks simply use corrupted fire from whatever infernal plane they conjure it up from. A proper Mage uses pure fire energy resembling that of a noble Phoenix.

In general glyphs should be used as cosmetic spell changers it would open up so much customization for players and all the spells you could change doing this. Like with shamans would love more spells with wind and thunder animations and not so much earth and fire. Could you imagine some kind of lava spell that erupts under the feet of the enemy like a geyser jumping from one enemy to the next instead of chain lighting.
