So just realzied that the mob Sunless Beckoner has the old shadowbolt animation with a nice second bolt with it located in Hallowfall in the Sunless strand.
How are we the pc having a worst animation for this spell.

Started playing in TBC and warlock main the entire time, tho I have taken long breaks. I just love the class. Diabolist might be the most fun I’ve had with it. The questing experience this expansion has also been top notch imo. But I’m with you I can’t understand how they thought the current wet noodle animation was better than the og floating skull. It’s an iconic animation for us and it is a real bummer we can’t have the option to use it with a glyph. Some NPCs use it, blizzard please…

I agree as well. I havent been a fan of shadow bolt nor incinerate ever since they gave them a graphic update.

Ironically the new mortal coil spell animation looks exactly like an updated shadowbolt using the old model as a base. Not sure why that wasn’t given to shadowbolt instead.
Agreed.
Throughout beta, myself and countless others BEGGED for new shadowbolt animation plus glyphs for old animations and colors but blizz was too busy nerfing crap to care.
I call shadow bolt the sparkly purple poop but wet noodle is also correct. Either way it completely kills the feel of the class.

Some of the spells when you do the green fire quest look like Nickelodeon slime. The new effects are lame, period. We need glyphs for the old ones and better new ones.
