I’ve heard some chatter about targeted corruptions for Shadow Priests, as well a change to the cookie cutter 3x CoI, 2x SA, 1x WoD Azerite traits. First hearing about the vendor, I was looking forward to stacking gushing wounds on everything since it was overall the most efficient dps per corruption point, but with the nerf that went to the wayside.
So I did some research, and my understanding is that we want to stack Severe (Crit%) corruptions up to 48% base crit chance, and then Expedient (Haste%) for the rest? Also, upon reaching 48% crit is when we swap a CoI for another SA on Azerite traits. That sound about right?
I’ve been very very lucky obtaining pieces with infinite stars 3, but it isn’t giving me the performance I want, and it’s too RNG-based for my liking. Most mythic nyalotha bosses, I’m not even seeing 10 stacks before the end of the encounter.

I can make this easy for you. Get 3x Rank 3 Expedient and 3x Rank 3 Severe for now. This should allow you to be under the 40 corruption limit so you don’t blow yourself up with things from beyond.
After that, whether or not you get another Expedient or Severe will be dependent on two conditions. The first would be if you can snag a piece that has whispers/AS. An example would be the Petticoat or the Inmate’s 480 azerite robe.
The second condition is whether or not you are able to obtain 2400 to 2500 base crit for that to be useful. This part is ‘easy’ in a sense as you can weigh things in your favor with sockets. While 3x SA does slightly more dps, it may not be worth the headache.
If you are sticking with 3x Chorus, which is much easier to find/maintain, then you would get the extra expedient.
After that, you would maintain a 4/3, 4/4, and 5/4 (…so forth so forth as you get more corruption resistance…) ratio of expedient/severe or severe/expedient depending on whether or not you can get the 3x AS.
The last piece of the puzzle is gushing wound. If you manage to get mythic N’zoth ring, that’s the only place to put 1x gushing wound. If you can’t, then there’s no point to getting it.

Thanks for the pointers, I’ll check it out. I’m part of the priest discord, but trying to find anything in a busy discord channel is a bit of a pain.

Publiks SIM didn’t account for mecha set bonus, which beats gushing wounds additional ilvl. If you want to run a gush anywhere it’s carapace legs, but that’s even less worth than nzoth ring.
