So 2 weeks in a row we have encountered something strange. We pull the warrior mob from the last pack up and center it in the circle for the channelers so the locks can seed off it and hit them all. Both weeks right as he starts walking like 20 mobs spawn out of his feet which is a MASSIVE issue. Last week we actually wiped and the second attempt it didn’t happen. This week we barely killed him so didn’t have to do it a second time. Anyone else having this problem?
Gonna be honest and say if this is a persistant issue then just dont do it, I think it’s a massive waste of time if you have the potential to wipe especially on an easy fight like Akama.
Apart from me saying that no, my guild doesnt really do that I think we did it once but nothing like that happened. I find it strange for it to be linked to centering of a mob.
Might be some strange combat teleport thing like what happens with shaman totems in Hyjal only in reverse? Whatever it is it’s very weird.
We do that same strat and never had that issue. Do you have 3 tanks handling all the add’s? The mobs might be spawning at his feet instead of the ‘side doors’ since that phase is technically over faster than its supposed to be?
Not sure, but we have a prot pally that just rounds up all the extra adds and takes them to shade and they get blown up with the boss.
Yeah I was kinda wondering if seed was pulling mobs under us or something
We have a prot paladin gathering adds up and I am holding the warrior at the boss. The 3rd tank is dpsing. On my druid I challenging roared after the paladin was just flat destroyed and died in under 2s. There was a TON of mobs.
There shouldn’t be anything under you, or above really.
I just think it’s the mobs that spawn during the encounter getting teleported somehow.
Yeah 20 mobs suddenly spawning sounds insane.
but it should just be 3, its like we are getting 4-5 spawns at once and they legit just came up from the floor. WIsh I had a VoD of it!
Are you using the melee mob from the left pack or the right pack.
My guild always uses the left pack for the boss pull and haven’t had this issue.
We also have a tank waiting by each doorway that spawns adds with hunter frost traps down
The more info we have the more likely it can be reproduced then fixed.
Left pack. We have the paladin start at the right door and then taunt the mobs from the left door. He’s dead before the third pack spawns when there isn’t an issue.
Thats weird, we dont have the locks to do/try this, we just melt them down clockwise.
Seems like it would be some kind of weird path/spawning issue, but we havent seen it.
We have 1 hunter (usually me) helping with the adds.
Just kill the casters as he is able to mitigate the melee damage pretty well.
With that (and squorpid sting the melee) our pally is able to tank just fine until the boss dies.
The hunter can focus on the boss as well so long as casters are dead.
My guild uses the left side for our pull as well, so idk what’s causing your spawn issue.
But if it does happen again, keep in mind all of those mobs are slow able, so you could have your pally kite tank (with slow trap help) until your group can aoe them down.
They don’t have much HP as a single hunter is able to burn the casters down with reasonable speed, so if the entire raid is killing them, they should die fast.
It just delays your killing of the other adds.
