I have been farming Sha of Anger world boss in Kun Lai Summit for years to get that mount.
I’ve lately seen several people who are level 38, 40, 41, and so on able to be involved in killing it.
However when I bring any of my level 38 to 49 characters to the boss, he’s up, but not killable. It’s like my characters are phased from killing it.
Is there some quest I need to do to unlock this boss for my lower level characters. It seems like any of my characters 50 and above have no issues. I have not been able to find the solution to this problem on youtube, any forums, wowhead, reddit, anywhere. If you know what I need to do, please let me know. Tks.

Wait. What do you mean by “he’s up but not killable”. Do you mean to say he is too strong for your characters? Sha is a level 20-35 boss. So a character who is sub level 40 may have issues with it. Not sure why you wouldn’t be able to kill it at level 45+ though.

He’s up and there is no one around that is killing him. I can’t even tag him. When I bring those characters he’s not dead. Same with Nalak. Nalak is continuously up, but not killable. Its really wierd. Only happens on my low level characters.
There must be some quest I need to do in Pandaria in order to kill these bosses.
I don’t understand why those lowbies I’ve seen at Sha and Nalak are able to tag it.
You know how you go up to those bosses and there is always a group of people waiting to kill them.
When I’m there its like either they are phased, or I am.
Check wowhead on this. I had this issue as well, but was going for the achievement rather than the mount drop. You need the toon to finish the questline that starts with the three characters who are seeking to improve, one of whom is a hozen.

If it isn’t the quest thing, you may not be seeing people because you’re in Chromie time for MoP and thus in an exclusive chromie time zone where only other people also in MoP chromie time are (and all of which will be varying levels of < 50 and all far too weak to tackle the world boss.

I just finished making a new dk in classic to get that new mount. The mount looks awesome! And it was fun seeing stormwind and the lich king in classic.
If you are in MoP Chromie time it is almost certainly that. Chromie time zones are special in that only people in the same Chromie time expansion choice can see each other. Even warmode chromie time and non warmode chromie time are seperate things (and can be used cleverly to hunt for rare mounts/stuff if you are in the know).

That makes sense, thanks. I always forget I’m in chromie time when leveling because I’m having fun.
That must be the reason too that on my other account I can’t meet both characters because the chromie time character is phased. Before we had Chromie time I always would take my capped mage from my other account, give my newbie character a ride all over to the flight points to help her level. Give her some resources and such.

That was exactly it! I went and turned chromie time off and I was able to fight the sha and Nalak alongside other people. Thanks again!
