Severe Graphics Bug

Ever since 9.0.5 launched, the quality of my graphics has decreased pretty severely. Water and fire textures are pixelated, as are all distanced objects. Framerates are fine, but the quality of the image itself looks like it’s being played on graphics setting 1.

All addons are disabled, drivers are up to date. Anyone else having this issue?

Same here, and it’s not only me, the problem is on their end.

I hope that they already know of it though… it’s so ugly :s

Ahh, this is what I was lookin for. I’m having this issue as well- I did some trouble shooting got “mem reduct” to clean up and make sure my ram wasn’t having issues- Opened hardware monitor to make sure other bits were working properly. Updated my drivers to the latest release. Still having the issue. I wanna say, I read somewhere that they were trying to fix certain spell and ground effects to make them less overwhelming on your screen with this current patch and it was still undergoing iteration, but I am unable to locate where I read this. So my working theory is that this is a symptom of graphical tuning-

A lot of the cvar values were reset. Go into your settings for graphics and click on default and click on all settings and force it to do a refresh of the cvar values. There is an addon Advanced Interface that lets you see all the cvar values. You can go in there and check what isnt matching and adjust the LOD and quality of graphics to your liking

I did try this but it is extremely temporary and doesn’t last more then 10 minutes.

The graphics are absolutely garbage after the patch and nothing seems to be fixing the problem.

you running on nvidia?

Yes. it has been updated. I have tried to even reinstall the game, reinstall drivers. It is NOT on my end.

ok run the old nvidia drivers. there has been graphic issues for months and the only fix has been to use the old drivers. the drivers you want are 457.51. Try those out and see if you still have issues

These issues are only present after the patch yesterday. This one isn’t a old driver issue that’s been around for months. This is a blizzard did something on their end. :frowning: I have always been able to run at max settings with zero problems and never had a pixelated mess of a game to play.

or dont try the fix…ok

Im sorry but you posted saying this is a fix for a ‘months’ old issue. The issue being posted here is from Yesterday 3/9 AFTER their patch. Obviously it’s not the drivers causing the problem, as others have said so too. I’m not trying to be rude and appreciate your thoughts towards help but that one isn’t going to do anything. :frowning:

they have been trying to fix the problem with every patch and its caused issues every time. so instead of relying on blizzard to do their job properly and in a timely matter a lot of us just reverted to old drivers and havent had issues since. we occasionally try and go back to newer ones to see if the patches helped at all but there is always something wrong. either flickering shadows or missing textures.

Also checking in to say I’m having the same issue since patch yesterday. Super unsightly.

Also having this issue, I tried running as admin, I tried making WTF not read-only, I’ve tried resetting graphics down to 1 and back up, I’ve tried the old drivers NVIDIA issue, I’ve tried re-installing. Nothing is working, I reset the graphics and it almost instantly afterwards goes back down/resets to really pixelated graphics.

I too am experiencing this issue. I noticed that in my advanced graphics page, the video card option at the bottom was on auto-select. I changed it to my NVidia RTX 2070 option and instantly noticed improvement. Graphics were returned to normal. This, however, only seemed to last until I hearthed back to Oribos-then I started noticing the pixelations again.

There were two updates for me.
In between the updates it did it for me.
Do you have a little green icon overlaying your blue swirly battle net icon?

Also all my addons needed updated. After updating them. I had some lua errors from my updated addons.
I will go back to see if they are gone after work.

same here.

I was having the same issue. When I fiddled with the display settings it would be fixed…but only temporarily. I found this response to a similar question and it fixed it…as far as I can tell. It was definitely frustrating as I JUST got a new computer last week and wasn’t having those issues then.

I hope this helps.

After playing with everything, this right here fixed it…thanks JD
