Seven Easy Steps to Mastering Beast Master Hunter!

EDIT: Made an important correction to Step 6

Step 1: Put ALL of your spells on your tool bars

Step2: Run around all willy nilly pressing which ever buttons you want, however many you want, in whatever order you want. The only exception is the occasional glowy button. Those absolutely take priority!

Step 3: Remember, it’s not your fault! It’s the healer’s fault. Your feet were absolutely freezing. That’s why you just had to stand in the fire! The healer should’ve done due dilligence and asked beforehand…or is that before feet?

Step 4: Giggle behind your hand as everyone else complains about you not losing DPS while moving.

Step 5: Name your pets! They are your friends!

Step 6: Yell “HEY! WHAT’S OVER THERE? PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW!” whenever you cast Barrage in a random direction.

Step 7: Get phat loots and forever be the envy of your (now former) friends and guildmates!

I’m definitely creating that macro now.

I feel like this should have the South Park “It’s coming right for us” meme attached

LOL, I’ve been getting tired of this game but still feel compelled to play. I’ve leveled and somewhat geared my main mage, but there’s too much paying attention to things. I got my BM hunter leveled and somewhat geared and I love that I can half pay attention to the game and half pay attention to a tv show and just mash at and few keys and run around and everything is fine. I felt guilty and went back to my mage for a bit and realized this isn’t the game play I want right now and went back to my hunter. If I do group content I don’t use the mash and run around strategy, I do follow the suggested rotation and ability management. Doing open world or solo stuff it’s great. Torgast, mage = effort, hunter mash and run and get er done.

You forgot the part where you feign death when the group wipes and then cackle madly as they complain about repair bills

Oh yeah. To be fair though, I like fighting them…IN A FIST FIGHT!

This guide of seven easy steps makes me sooooo maaaadddd!

Even in my blind rage I could easily follow it and be better! Now I’m kinda embarrassed I didn’t think of it myself….now I’m proud of you for posting it. Phew! What a ride it’s been and it was only seven steps!! Sorry, seven EASY steps!

I think that’s where a lot of hunters get confused. Our “rotation” has nothing to do with buttons. It’s all about how fast we can spin in a circle (rotate)!

no barrage in vanilla - the best fun stuff came later

Yes but the steps are quite similar!

How do you master bedroom play tho??

You left out another important step. Never take off growl! The tank should be happy you’re sending in your pet to help out in the fight while your trying to find the optimal range to start shooting!

But then again, what do I know because I hardly name any of my pets which invalidates me as a hunter. :sob:

GREAT POINT! It is very important that the tank learn to perfect his taunting skills!

Otherwise, they may as well reroll to mage!

Rotation? Ha! Press all the buttons! :running_man:

vanilla beast mastery was only good in leveling because of the pet

Since 8.0 Growl is automatically turned off in group content and you have to consciously enable it.
